Memo: Rooms and White Scrub Pants
Effective Communication: Memo
Phase 2 IP

Professor Moskowitz

Kyosha Valley Medical Group
MEMO

DATE: July 21, 2012
TO: All staff and Physicians
FROM: Director of Communications
SUBJECT: Dress code and Cleanliness of facility

It has come to my attention that not everyone is wearing scrub uniforms. It is our policy that everyone looks uniform, so that our patients can tell the staff apart from our guests. We want to make sure our facility is at its best. Therefore the look of our staff is important. We will provide one scrub uniform per employee. The doctor’s will wear blue scrubs with their white lab coats. The RN’s and LPN’s will wear white scrub pants with a scrub top of their choice. Our dietary staff, housekeeping staff and maintenance staff will all wear black scrub pants with a top of their choice. Everyone must have either a plain white or black pair of tennis shoes. Name tags must be visible for everyone to see. Everyone had two weeks to comply with the dress code.
We have been getting complaints about the cleanliness of our facility. It is our duty to keep our facility looking good. The patients here at Kyosha Valley are important to us. We must all work together to keep things on track and looking neat. Some of the patients have been complaining about the waiting room area and that the bath rooms are not being kept clean. The bathrooms need to be checked twice a day and cleaned once a day. Everyone can work together to keep the waiting area neat and organized. The janitorial staff will clean the waiting area every evening.
In certain situations it may be difficult to understand other patients. If they are hearing impaired, or if English is their second language they may be harder to communicate with. Remember our policy is to be patient and get someone to help you if you need it. Don’t over react or get upset we are here to help everyone that comes through
