Memoir Of Cheetahs: A Narrative Fiction
Memoir Draft I was laying in bed on just another normal sunday not knowing what was yet to come, when I suddenly looked outside. Snow as white as a polar bear as far as the eye could see. Right at that moment I ran out of bed, looked at my brother and said, “Griswold. Sledding.” My brother looked at me with excitement and we both ran to our rooms to get dressed. When we were dressed, we were off to find our sleds as happy as can be. Once we found them we told our parents where we were heading off to and then sprinted up to Griswold School as fast as cheetahs. When we got there, out of breath, I gasped and said, “Me first!”. So I got on my snowboard and went down the hill. I went flying down the hill a million miles per hour and got to the …show more content…
When I was all the way at the top of the hill, I told Marino to go. He layed back on his snow tube, I gave him a big push, and he was on his way. My brother started out really fast down the hill and he was loving it. Then I noticed something. It was not a good thing. My brother ws changing directions. “Oh shit that is a big tree.” I took off. I was running as fast as I could toward him. He had no control over his direction and was headed for the biggest tree in the woods. There was no way I was catching him so I stopped as he said, “Oh Shit!”. When he said that I thought, how does he know how to swear, he’s only 7 years old. Right at that moment, BOOM! My brother smacked into the tree so hard both of his shoes came off, the tube went an additional 50 feet into the wood, his jacket came off, and he hit his head pretty hard on the tree. I came sprinting down very worried to see my brother lying on the ground. “Marino are you okay? Are you hurt? Tell me what hurts?” He looks at me and smiles, “Can we do that again?” I just looked at him and rolled my eyes. “Does anything hurt?” I asked nervously. “Yes. My leg and head hurt pretty bad.” I suddenly became worried. This was all my fault. If I just stayed down there I could've stopped him from

As discussed in class Michelangelo Antonioni’s early documentaries rely a lot on silence, which seemingly helped bring a more real presence to the world within the films. Antonioni’s first documentary was Gente Del Po, about the inhabitants of the Po valley near his hometown. It covered every aspect of the hard lives the fishermen of the Po Valley had to face. One interesting thing about the film is that a bulk of it was lost due to damage. However, Antonioni’s showed determination as he created the documentary with what he had. It seems that he displays this level of determination commonly throughout the making of his films. Around the time of his first documentary, he also filmed several more. Another is Superstizione, a documentary about…

Chris went down for dinner when he got to the table and his mother had made tacos. Chris loved tacos, but he wasn’t very hungry. Chris sat at the table and picked everything out of the taco and named each thing in his head as he did, lettuce, tomato, cheese, meat, and taco shell. When Chris was done picking his food apart. He looked up, at his mom, and then his brother, and then his father none of them noticed chris’s sorrow filled look. Another boring story I am stuck listening to my brother tell over and over again for the next week. Chris sat quietly listening to his brother talk about how he kissed some girl on the cheek at lunch.…

One sunny, hot day I was outside in my backyard playing with my friend Annabel who lived across the street from me. Then all the sudden I heard a scream that sounded like it came from my brother. He quickly burst into tears as the water sprayed on him. I yelled at Morgan “I told you not to shoot!”. Cheetahs have several special adaptations that allow them to reach top speeds. Wide nostrils and large lungs combined with a powerful heart and strong arteries provide more oxygen to their muscles. Their huge leg muscles mainly consist of fast twitch fibers, which contract faster than normal muscles. Their small body frame is lightweight and aerodynamic. With long legs, loose hip and shoulder joints, and a flexible spine, cheetahs can cover 7 m (20-25 ft.) in one…

Once there was three baby cheetahs name Alfred, Sinzu, and Sprinkles. One day Mother Cheetah and her three cubs were hunting zebras. ”Stay low my little ones, they can’t see you coming.” said Mother Cheetah. After 10 minutes of stalking Mother cheetah finally caught a zebra. As Mother Cheetah and her cubs were eating their zebra dinner curious little Sinzu asks “Momma how come zebras gots stripes on their coat but we gots nothing?” “Ya!” screams the cubs in unison. “Because that’s how God wanted our coats, and we never question Gods will.” Replied Mother “Ok, night Momma.” stated the cubs. Through the night Sinzu thought, and thought on how great it would be to have cool spots on its coat like zebra or leopard. “Hey Alfred, Sprinkles wake up.” whispered Sinzu. “What do you want now?” said Sprinkles annoyed. “I got an idea, let’s go to old man Baboon’s Paint warehouse and paint our coats!” remarked Sinzu. “I’m in!” said Alfred. So that night the three cheetah cubs sneaked out of their den and went to Old Man Baboon’s Paint Warehouse. “Finally! It took forever to get here.” complained Sprinkles. “Shut up Sprinkles, you’re the slowest cheetah in the safari!” yelled Sinzu. As they walked into the warehouse naive Alfred found a stack of play guns. “Look what I found.” said Alfred. “Hold on, I have an idea.” explained Sprinkles. As Sprinkles brothers stood there confused she was loading three paint guns with black paint and shot them.” “ Ahhh!” cried both Alfred and Sinzu. “What was that for?” Just look at your coats.” stated Sprinkles. “We got our spots!” rejoiced the two cheetah brothers. “Now can you guys be gentle cheetahs and give me a paw.” purred Sprinkles. At sunrise the new spotted cheetah cubes came back home. ”My babies said Mother cheetah “What happened to your coats? “We got spots!” they all remarked. Noah was allowed two animals of each kind, however having only two animals creates a lack of genetic diversity. With that being said, some of these animals must have been ‘ideal’ to contain abundant genetic diversity to be passed on to future generations. So how did Noah know to choose the lion or the domestic house cat in deciding which genes were more important to pass down? According to many scientists, for a species to not be considered endangered there must be fifty of its kind for there to be enough genetic diversity, however the best results would occur if there were at least five hundred in a species (Freemon and Heron, 2007). However, having only two animals would not be enough in order to sustain all of the genetic diversity…

It was early one morning, far before anybody was awake. The wind was starting to pick up, and it was also snowing with 3-inches already on the ground. That made it worse because it was causing snow drifts. Dad and I got in the very cold truck, (we didn’t wait for it to warm up) and were ready to go. As we were leaving, we plowed the driveway just to be safe, and to make sure my mom could get out later.…
