Even though little Hua began to walk, in less than one hundred steps she nearly collapsed. Due to the great injury on her leg, she walked limping. She thought that with her injuries, walking a bit more was easy, but she overestimated her body. The temperature remained the same as when she entered, but she felt cold.
Her blue eyes looked at her surroundings. To the right, a lot of trees, with no signs of ending. To the left, still the same lake. She was on the border of the lake, the only open path in the forest, which left her no choice but to continue walking. Slowly.
Time passed quickly, the light of the sun began to fade. Little Hua’s fingers trembled occasionally in anxiousness. Standing in this open space with no protection the whole night would surely be dangerous, …show more content…
as during the day she already encountered a scary wolf.
Although the wounds on her right arm and leg ached, she endured and began to walk faster. She needed to find somewhere safe, if she finds the sect, it would be much better. Following the path made of stones would only bring her bad luck. And so, she had an idea.
Like when she visited that strange place, she then climbed on the trees to have a better look. From the tree, even the other side of the lake she could see, but only a small part. She can only look in frustration as the other side was like an exact copy of the side she was currently. However, looking to her right a mountain caught her eye.
The mountain formed a wall, making it incapable of seeing the other side. It was the only change in the scenery of trees and lake. A mountain… Meaning there could be a cave! A pity it was so far away, but it was the best option. But then she looked at the trees again and remembered the scary wolf came from these, making her hesitate. She was injured, and encountering another wolf would kill her. Yes, with no doubts. But near the lake was could appear another wolf or even other beasts. Deciding herself, she climbed down the tree.
“Ow!” When her feet touched the ground, she cried in pain. But next, she sighed and went in the direction of the mountain.
Two hours later, she finally reached the bottom of the mountain. It wasn’t too small in height, but it was so wide she doesn’t know how long it would take to make a detour, maybe more than a whole day, she thought.
After checking and walking a little, she found what she was looking for, a cave. The cave could help her stay warmer than outside while reducing the chances of encountering a beast since the cave was a bit far from the bottom. Truly killing two bir- no, that’s wrong.
In a few minutes, she entered the cave, and finally had the time to take a good breath. Strangely, the cave made her feel calm.
“Haa~” As the air in her lungs went out, her body became lighter like she was floating on the clouds. She felt sleepy after all that walking. Her feet, arms, back, and head didn’t feel like moving and her thoughts became muddled. She could only walk that much because of the training her mother gave her. Remembering her mother, she became worried. Would her mother be worried if she doesn’t contact her? What should she do if she wasn’t able to return? Will she… be able to…

The next day after dawn, little Hua climbed down from the cave and decided to look around. Although she felt hungry it wasn’t to the point that hurt, due to her training with her mother. During her walking from the day before, she couldn’t find any animals around, only birds swiftly flying, fast and high. Due to that, she has only been eating a red fruit which she finds only after about five thousand steps each fruit.
Last night she was lucky and didn’t encounter any other beast, but it didn’t mean she wouldn’t encounter it today, so she hurried, and decided to circle the mountains.
After how many hours, she found a hole in the mountain. It was so enormous that it could fit more than one hundred little Huas, she estimated. Around it, just a pile of rocks and the continuation of the mountain. Really weird.
There weren’t any more paths and it didn’t seem as if she would find any more exit, so she decided to test her luck. And so, went to the front of the hole.
“Ah,” She noticed something on the ground. Again that black stones on the ground. However, it seemed as if it ended after that hole.
It was the fault of that bunch of stones that she lost her bag. She glared at it, however, the stones didn’t seem interested, and had no reactions. “Humph,” Little Hua ignored them as well and took a step forward.
In that very moment, a repulsive force appeared, making her take a step back, and suddenly she could not move her body.
“Who goes there!?” A powerful voice echoed, filling the whole place. A terrifying pressure downed on little Hua. Her heart rate started beating like drums, and her whole body began to tremble.
As she couldn’t move, she couldn’t even answer, “Oh, it’s just an earth realm brat,” The pressure lessened just enough to move her head, but the rest of the body was like a statue, frozen in place.
Sighing in relief, she looked around, but couldn’t find the source. But suddenly from the air, a youth appeared in front of her!
A messy short black hair and penetrating brown eyes. The youth had half more of her height and his body was slightly tanned with a bit of muscle. All of this gave her a wild feeling as if she met that wolf once again. He looked much older than her, maybe the double of her age. He tried to look calm, but she could see a hint of a frown and anger in his eyes. On his white cloth, a “Gatekeeper” word was written on it.
“Disrupting my cultivation, how are you going to repay it, huh? Didn’t elders tell you on the first day if you want to enter, just follow the path of white stones and you will find the main gate? Fuck, I was about to breakthrough after all these years, and I had this shitty luck of encountering a lost newcomer. And what’s it with that injury and clothes? Did you have to enter a danger zone thinking you are the best, huh? This is the emergency gate, yet you try to enter it, what are you, an idiot?”
The blue eyes of little Hua sparkled.
It seems she met a very gentle person, explaining everything in her first meeting. Are all powerful people like that? There were some parts she didn’t understand but she didn’t mind at all, so she waited for this gentle person to finish speaking.
“If you want to enter the danger zone and die, please die far away from here! Hey, are you listening? It’s your fault, you know?” He looked at the silver haired girl angrily. The hair color was a little unusual for a girl of her age, but it was not impossible.
Little Hua with eyes full of gratitude answered, “Yes, I’m listening, gentle person!” She bowed.
The youth was a bit surprised, how did she reach this conclusion? Looking at her eyes blue as the sky, he couldn’t sense any bit of falseness. He frowned even harder. But as if he suddenly thought of something, he asked, “How old are you, girl?”
Little Hua answered his gentleness, “I’m…” After some time thinking, she answered, “I’m turning nine today!”
“Sigh, Nine? Why are you here, then? You should be training,” The youth’s expressed his confusion.
“I’m here to join the…uh… Flying Kite Sect…?” She wasn’t
sure.
“It’s Flying Sky Sect! How can you enter it if you don’t even remember the name of the sect?!”
“Oh…”
“Sigh, whatever. But you have an invitation, right?”
“…”
“Ah, really…” The youth made an expression of resignation. It seems he should expect anything coming from her.
“My mother already talked with the sect since I would be coming…I think.”
“Oh? What’s your mother’s name?”
“She is-”
“Well, I don’t care either way, come with me. Humph, be grateful.” He took her hand and pulled her into the hole.
As they were talking the pressure lessened, and now, she could move freely. After taking one step forward, the world around her shifted, turning black. One second later, the world regained all the colors, however, completely different from before.
“So beautiful,” Little Hua exclaimed. She couldn’t think of any other words.
She was standing in a gravel path, flowers of all colors surrounded her and she could see trees even taller than the ones outside. Additionally, there was a tall waterfall on the distance, even twenty little Huas on top of each other could not be taller as if it was reaching to the skies. The water from the waterfall made a beautiful rainbow, which passed through all the valleys and mountains. Also, right in the center of all of that, she could see an incredibly tall, red building, almost as tall as the waterfall.
The youth released her hand, “Hurry, I don’t have time to take care of children like you,” Yet, he didn’t move until little Hua walked with him.
After a few minutes, the building got closer and closer. Its height seemed taller and taller. She could see even more small buildings around that tall building, all colored red. However, as she looked carefully, all buildings had black lines, each one with different patterns.
Step, step. They reached close to one of the small buildings. Around it was a wooden floor and a stair, different from the gravel path and the surrounding earth. The youth looked towards little Hua, who was still admiring the scenery and said, “Take this pill and wait here,” After saying that, he entered the building’s door.
Little Hua took the pill from his hand and put it in her mouth. She thought only her grandma Jia was able to make it, but it seems it isn’t? Going out and meeting new people broaden your horizons, truly like mom said.
Ten seconds passed, Thirty seconds, One minute. Why did he give her a pill again? After one minute and no effect? Well, she didn’t mind it, she just waited.
Two minutes, five minutes, ten minutes. Now that she noticed, the wounds hurt just a bit and the wound is smaller? Or is it just her impression? She climbed the only stair and lied down on her back, her head on the direction of the door. Crossing her legs, she began to think of what to do. What happened with the wolf was distressing, but she was sure with the help of the sect she would find a way to contact her mom and even go back home. Now, she began to think of how she would do that.
A bit later, two people emerged out from the doors. One, the wild looking black haired youth, and next to him, a gentle looking old man, one that she could find anywhere, with a head of white hair and green eyes.
“…” The black haired youth looked at the silver haired girl and sighed one more time. He left just a while ago and she lied down in this vulgar position, what if other people come? He called her, “You…uh…little girl, get up to greet honored master.”
