My main role was managing clinical records, preparing intervention files, and maintaining protocols. At FRS, I was involved in assisting with various clinical research projects, including a R01 grant involving a randomized control trial, funded by the National Institute of Drug Abuse. That particular project was investigating modifications to Family Behavioral Therapy (FBT) within a collegiate athlete population. Dr. Bradley Donohue, the developer of FBT, is the program’s director. I was drawn to his lab by their family behavioral approach and my opportunity to be involved in innovative services and research. I want to be less worried about how I am going to pay for my education and more focused on doing the best I can in my classes and coursework overall. I have been working two jobs trying to pay for school and still keep up my grades so that I do not have a high level of debt at the end of my journey. I am very grateful for all my opportunities at UNLV and want to be able to continue to work hard towards my ultimate goal to be the best counselor I can be. Additionally, although I am consider a part time student on my degree sheet/track I am pushing myself to do more classes each semester because I feel it is more enriching for me to do as much as I
