In schools, a mentor could be a teacher, a guidance counselor or staff member. They offer children the necessary skills to be able to build relationships and learn communication skills. Mentors at schools can provide tutoring and assistance for any problem the children face; whether it is at home with a family member or with someone outside of the immediate family. Teachers have the big impact on being a mentor to children. They encourage the child to do well in school and have good study habits. It is important for children to ask for clarification from a teacher so they can learn more about the subject. That’s where a mentor (teacher) jumps in.
