Not only for my projects, but moving ahead in life. Believing I can walk through new doors full of amazing opportunities in which I can create new beginnings for myself. Becoming decisive and making the right choices in life. As I have inherited skills from others throughout PFC, I have also delivered. I contributed to PFC by becoming more professional and putting my leadership skills to work. Being there for my fellow coworkers and helping out one another. Also, I have created and even more welcoming and exciting community within PFC not just for myself but others as well. Whether we would be just sitting tabling waiting for students to pick up shirts to working inside the office trying to keep it quiet, we have always had our major load of fun. Interacting with each other not only inside the office and on campus, but off-campus has brought closer to each other knowing we can rely on each other when it comes to anything. Each and every one of us has left a special mark in each other’s lives. When it comes to improving on something, I believe I could have at times put my personal situations aside from my…
Character, service, and leadership all seem to be connected through one common concept; fostering a positive community in all aspects. If accepted into National Honors Society, I will uphold the ideals of “leadership, service, and character” through continued volunteer work, using the opportunity to serve others in my community, and use my position within the Society to be a catalyst for change.…
During these activities I enjoyed giving back to the community which I live in and plan to continue to give back more to my community and other communities. Ultimately character to me is represented through a person through great characteristics such as responsibility, good behavior, reliability and much more. I personally believe that I am a representation of character, as a fact responsibility is something that I find to be very important to me because people such as your teachers and peers will always count on you. As well as having responsibility being reliable to my peers is something that I care much about. Being reliable to others isn’t just helping others through judgement but helping that person with rational advice which represents how much you care for them. Lastly good behavior is something that I personally strive for everyday from following the rules to being respectful, I feel like I’m doing the correct thing but I also feel like a role model to others. The National Honors Society is represented by Four pillars that represents the success of many students like me that are passionate in what they are doing and that want to become NHS member to succeed in the future not for themselves but to share it with others and change the world one step at a…
The National Honor Society is a group of students that exemplify the traits of leadership, character, citizenship, and intelligence. It is crucial that the future members of this organization exhibit these characteristics to the best of their abilities. For a great majority of my student life, I strived to perform these traits to my utmost capability, aiming to become an excellent example for my fellow peers. Throughout my high school career, I have been on the honor role for every quarter thus far. I feel deep pride and satisfaction in my grades and scholarly accomplishments, for they are a visual example of the hard work and large amount of effort I put into my studies. Although I not acquired any formal leadership positions, I exert my leadership abilities by example. In my classes, I often…
Whether it be learning about the culture and diversity of my peers -- strictly adhering to the inclusion efforts of the Honors College, engaging in discussions surrounding issues and current events around the world, or learning how to create and market products that will succeed with the help of my professors, I know I will be deeply ingrained and involved with the Honors College community and strive to embody it’s important interdisciplinary values. I hope to become a part of this amazing community of students and contribute in these activities that make it so…

There are many places a psychologist can obtain “naturalistic” viewpoints of human beings in any given situation in life. The situations I have listed below are three examples of “naturalistic observations”, I have witnessed over the last six weeks and a lifetime that signify various ideas, emotions and reactions of the given circumstances. I hope these instances I have provided, make you think of similar situations that you may have encountered in the past or possibly in your near future.…
After attending Tarrant county college, I decided to join the Cornerstone Honors program. Over the course of a year I was exposed to the idea of being able to formulate my own ideas through rigorous course work centered, on critical thinking and analytical skills. Following the completion of the program, I was finally confident in myself as an overall person. Over the course of my first year, the Honors Texas government course had created an atmosphere where my peers and I were able to express ourselves in a positive setting and learn from each other’s perspectives. In addition, I learned to have an informed opinion about my own beliefs. As a result, I gained the confidence to run for an officer position for the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.…
Another wonderful thing about honor classes is that we have also been allowed to work in groups; and by doing so, we will be better prepared for the workforce where such skills will be needed. I have also discovered several mentors through the honors program, all of who have helped me in a myriad of ways. Some continue to help me through my life, encouraging me whenever I am consumed with self doubt. Some professors even go as far as to advise me on what I need to accomplish in the future in order to obtain my goals. Others are there for me in more academic ways, and assist me whenever I am struggling with a concept. This is a delightful attribute to the honors program, as such characteristics are not always found throughout the campus. Lastly, although it is not yet my past nor my present another event that I believe will benefit me greatly is the Tennessee Collegiate Honors Conference. This event will provide to me experience in academic public speaking which is something I will need to be able to do in my future career. All of these factors have come together to make my time spent in the honors program beneficial to my future; moreover, my time here has overall been both gratifying and…
Over the course of history many brilliant men and women have attempted to unlock the mysteries held in the Human mind. Whether these individuals felt they achieved their goals or not, there was a mutual goal shared by all of them. This achievement spanned over thousands of years, several fields of study, and millions of participants. What all these great minds discovered is one of the single largest fields of study today, Psychology. Psychology is best defined as the study of the mind, but there are branches of it that examine one’s inner self, surroundings, and parts of the unconsciousness mind as well. These different branches have come to be known as the “Major Schools of Thought.” (Psychoid)…
