Merchandise is household, personal use, or commercial goods, wares, commodities, bought and sold in wholesale and retail. In Bishkek there are a lot of merchandising companies, which uses accounting in their activities. According to the law they do not have to divulge this information that is why we had some problems to make this research.
First company we went to was chain store “7 days”, but unfortunately they said that information we asked is confidential. Second shop was “Incity”, a new shop selling woman’s clothes. The only information they gave us is that “Incity” is Russian brand, sewing Guangzhou. It is a franchise company, they uses FOB distribution. This is all information they gave us. Their system is computerized and we came to conclusion that they have perpetual accounting system.
Drugstore was the next attempt, but as it turned out they do not have any accounting. Then we went to Jewelry shop, seller said that accouter was not there. It started to seem that we would never do it.
Fortunately we decided to go to furniture store; there was very nice seller Yulya and manager Tanya who answered almost all our questions. Furniture store “Forum” is selling furniture from Poland during 15 years. All transportation expenses takes on the store. Poland factory provides discount from 1-5% at full prepayment. All payments are implemented through the bank. They use computerized periodic accounting system. In the end of each month they make physical count of inventory. This is all information they could gave us. We thanked them and went out.
We face a lot of difficulties despite of it we did this research!
