Description
1. “Kalikasan” Camp
To help the youth become aware of climate change, global warming, and other vital environmental concerns and develop awareness of student leaders on water protection and conservation, to covering other environmental concerns (biodiversity, solid waste management, air and water quality management, climate change) as well.
To heighten the awareness and increase the participation of the youth, to do their share in protecting the environment. Specifically, it aims to do the following:
a. Mobilize student leaders to initiate environmental programs in their schools
b. Inculcate to the students the importance of managing the environment to protect biodiversity
c. Teach the youth the value of reuse and recycling by converting wastes into art pieces
d. Teach the youth various strategies to communicate environmental concerns, so they will be able to echo their environment programs to others
e. Provide an avenue for the youth to showcase their concern for the environment, as well as their artistic talent
f. To showcase camps and workshops as a tool for environmental education, in support to Republic Act 9512, or the Environmental Education and Awareness Act
g. To highlight proper solid waste management, as directed by RA 9003, or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act; air quality management, as directed by RA 8749, or the Philippine Clean Air Act; and water quality, as directed by RA 9275, or the Clean Water Act.
