They believed that natural things like floods and the sun rising in cloudless sky was part of a recurring cycle. They tried to please their gods at all times, so the cycle would continue its path. They believed that the Pharaoh was chosen by the gods, and for that reason had a connection with them. The pharaoh would create strict laws for the people to obey and respect, in order to keep the gods happy. They would create elaborate temples for their gods.Since there were many temples most of the people’s money went to them, and the people suffered the most. Most people were peasants due to the amount of money dedicated to the gods.

Material evidence tell us that the Indus Valley Civilization was very advanced and organized. Everything about their city showed a certain level of organization. A civilization with drainpipes for human waste, shows a big advancement. The fact that there was a lot of metal scattered showed that most people were wealthy. There were also things that were not local which suggests that they traded. They traded with people as far as Mesopotamia.
