So many employers expect their employees to be like Rowan. That they will just take the task at hand and do it with out questions and without hesitation. Although most men are not like Rowan. It is more common to see a man such as the one described in ‘A Message to Garcia’ , “… one man of really brilliant parts who has not the ability to manage a business of his own, and yet who is absolutely worthless to any one else… He cannot give orders; and he will not receive them.”
A man like Rowan is so rare that employers will weed through countless men to find the man that can carry the message. This makes the man that relays the message almost more important then the message. Without the “Rowan” the message will never get to the its destination, it will be lost and may never be found. This man has to be trusted, capable, and willing to carry the message in order for the message to reach the person.
We often hear of the downtrodden and homeless wanderers searching for honest employment. We hear the men in power talk about the homeless needing to help themselves, but who is the say that the shaggy man sitting on the corner ask for change is any less reliable then the C.E.O. of a major company.
