Metacognition Stage 4 Foot Print
Metacognition stage 4 Foot Print
Nowadays, it´s very important to create conscience in the people about the ecological footprint that is the impact that each human has. In this activity, I´m going to explain you my ecological footprint and the actions that I have to do for contribute positively to the environment. So let´s start with my ecological footprint.
First, I began with searching the web and answering the questionnaire about the ecological footprint. That test is about the consume of electricity, water, gas, etc. in your home, also ask you how many persons live in your home, what amount of kilometers per year you did walking, driving, in the bus, etc. The result of that test for me was…If all the persons live like me; we would need to live 1.62 Earths, so we only have one, that is not okay…
My proposal is very simple but very important, it is to reduce my ecological footprint, because If reduce my footprint I would be helping the environment a lot!
First, I have to give the example and then I would teach to the others. So, I have to turn off computers at night, plant a notion, recycling glass, using one less paper napkin, using both sides of paper (print), recycling newspaper, taking a shorter shower, recycling old cell phones, using rechargeable batteries, among others actions.
Now that I have created conscience myself, I could do a good awareness campaign to form people of all ages by teaching simple ways to help the environment. In this case, I could do a campaign in my high school or community.

Secondly, I could find sporting facilities that are closer to my house and I could walk there, again this would fuel while also improving my fitness. In order to reduce my ecological footprint, I can use public transportation one more day per week rather than driving to the local stores and restaurants I frequent. Not only will it save me money on gas, but it also lead to less carbon emissions that produce and cause harm to the Earth. I can also fly less. I tend to fly to near destinations, like Massachusetts and the Carolinas. I think it could more fun if I took a road trip with family or friends or even take the Amtrak train. Last but not least, I will purchase products that are produced organically or with less packaging. Both produce just about the same kind of quality without having to use the needless materials that is mostly thrown away rather than recycled.…

What can we do to reduce our ecological footprint? There are many thing. For example, in our house, we compost all organic matter. We also recycle everything that our local community accepts at the recycling center. In addition, we often choose the items we buy based on the amount of packaging they have. The combination of these three things reduces our garbage output to only one 30-gallon bag every two weeks for a family of two. Not too bad. And the compost we make goes into our organic garden plot. This compost is a rich, black material that acts like a high potency fertilizer for our garden. It's composed of food waste, papertowels & napkins, the occasional egg carton and anything that will break down including yard waste (leaves, grass clippings, etc.) When turned regularly, a compost pile will get as high as 130ƒF, enough to sterilize seeds so that they don't sprout in your garden.…

An ecological footprint is the land, water, and resources consumed by a one person. As a child I probably wasn't using as many resources when it came to food or in wasting or having a "throw away" attitude towards thing. In the Assignment 1 where they showed us how many earths it would take to have the world live like "me" was shocking. And one of the main reasons as to why it was to big is because I fly a lot year-round. Taking less flights and trip/my means of transportation would greatly decrease my own ecological footprint.…
