September 11, 2012 at 5:00 o’clock in the afternoon is the day when we’re all excited to pack our things going to Manila. We’re actually going there because we have a three days Educational trip or should I say we’re going to attend a seminar at UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES– Diliman Quezon City. We as the participant will draw a total of 125 including 6 ISU faculty members and 119 student ofISU-Ilagan, with the travel agency Great Wall of China-Tuguegarao City. Around six o’clock in the evening we boarded at the Ballesteros Bus Line Corp. That was my first time to have a trip with my classmates, schoolmates and most especially my friends who are really excited to go. For almost 10 hours of our road trip finally we reached the Ambassador Manila Hotel we’re we check-in.Upon arrival they welcome us and accompanied us to our designated room to fix our things and to take some rest with the haggard look we enjoy picture taking and make some kind of noise because of our excitement. We take our breakfast at the hotel lobby a few minutes after our arrival, we take a bath and wear our best dress, and we leave the hotel around 8:30 pm for seminar

The information technology advancements continue to impact the workplace, societies and cultures. In today’s world, information technology is almost part of every business, educational institute, and even personal activity (Brooks, 2010). Computer and internet access have found their way to households, schools, libraries, people’s cell phones, banks, hospitals, governments, coffee shops, and other public places. As the industry evolves, so do the needs and special niches of society from mainframe systems, to micro systems, to PC-based LAN and WAN systems, to virtual systems and the internet.…

In his foreword to Upara, Mane recalls that while writing the book, he had re-lived the tortures he had seen and suffered in the past and that his intention in writing the book was to acquaint society of the sufferings of homeless people and thus motivate them to do something substantial and constructive in the struggle of human liberation. Mane’s message through his autobiography is apparent. It is a plea for liberation from the shackles of the caste system which holds certain communities in bondage and servitude, bringing them nothing but negation, rejection, and denial wherever they turn to. The text delineates the protagonist/author’s incessant efforts to rise upwards in society.…

As I walked into the house, holding my Tupperware full of chicken adobo, I knew that I was at a Filipino party. As the door closed behind me, my senses were bombarded with a variety of different sounds, smells, and sights that I have had seen before but almost forgotten. After a few moments, when my sensory overload passed, I walked to the dining room table and placed my family’s home made Filipino dish onto the table. I looked around and took a deep breath because I knew I had to make my rounds, and greet every single person at the party. This has always been a Filipino tradition in my family. As I began to hug all my aunties, uncles, cousins, and other relatives, I got a feeling like I was home again. Everything that seemed weird in the beginning started to feel normal again.…

The fact that it has recently become fashionable for physicists themselves to be sympathetic toward religion . . . marks the physicists’ own lack of confidence in the validity of their hypotheses, which is a reaction on their part from the antireligious dogmatism of nineteenth-century scientists, and a natural outcome of the crisis through which physics has just passed. –A. J. Ayer. . . . once one has understood the Tractatus there will be no temptation to concern oneself anymore with philosophy, which is neither empirical like science nor tautological like mathematics; one will, like Wittgenstein in 1918, abandon philosophy, which, as traditionally understood, is rooted in confusion. –J. Inside my sister’s room, I kept on looking at my reflection in the mirror wondering if what I wore was enough. Asking myself then to my sister what bag should compliment with my outfit and if I should tie my hair or not. But then, she who was a little bit good at fashion concluded that it was fine. I closed my eyes and took a very deep breath. I got a tarpaulin. Printed on it was a picture of a very beautiful woman with those texts saying, “Welcome to Cebu, Jasmine!” I also took the scrapbook and put it inside my bag. After two years of just tweeting her to come to our town, it’s about time to meet and greet the person who has inspired me a lot, Jasmine Curtis-Smith.…
