First, she talked about if you don’t like your topic, don’t force it because it helps for you to actually be invested in your topic in some way which would force you to actually to want to write it. If you just choose a topic for no reason it sometimes leads to procrastination and making the whole project way harder than it needs to be. She also talked to us about the importance of the conclusion. Personally, I never really liked the conclusion because I feel really forced to figure up how to wrap about my paper when I established everything I wanted to say in the body paragraphs. As a result, my conclusion ends up being about 2-3 sentences worth of just trying to figure out some way to end. Her ideas for a conclusion were helpful because she said its important to state why this topic mattered to you, why should it matter to others, and reinstate key points, and (optionally) close about something you learned. I think that I’ll use her suggestions for how to write a conclusion next time because this was probably the most helpful advice from the whole
