Mexico Mexico is such a beautiful country and there is so much more to Mexico and their culture then what people really think or know. It is were all my family is from. I am from a state called Durango. I have only been there a couple times but I know I am going to go back to visit sometime soon. Mexico is located right beneath the United States. It borders The Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea. It 's geographic coordinates are 23 00 N, 102 00 W. Mexico is a total of 1,964,275 sq km in area. It is actually the 14th biggest country in the whole world. There are many different problems that Mexico faces today. All the drug-related murders or the kidnapping for ransom are issues that they are working on that have been going on for a very long time now. The people how are being killed are not only drug dealers but innocent bystanders. Another big problem is Mexico 's oil production is declining. It is the because of the lack of oil discoveries and the aging of the current oil fields. There are many good parts and things to Mexico like their large range of amazing traditions and culture. Family is one of the biggest fundamentals in the Mexican culture. We are always getting together and celebrating birthdays, weddings, baptisms, confirmations, quinceanera (which is the transformation from childhood to womanhood). At birthday parties there is always these things called pinatas. We fill them with candy and hit the object until it breaks. I love being part of this culture because it is so beautiful and heart warming. You know you always have someone to count on no matter what. Christmas is also a big holiday we celebrate. We stay up on Christmas Eve until it hits midnight. For my family, when that times comes we all scream and hug each other. We 've done it every year since ever I could remember back. There are things called 田harreadaswhich is a Mexican rodeo. They get all dressed up
