Question 1
a) “A literature review goes beyond the search for information”. Discuss the statement. (12M)
Answer - A literature review is a study of everything that has been written about a particular topic, theory, or research question that related to our selected area. It is not only about finding or searching the information, it may provide the background for larger work which is much more than a simple list of sources and make us understand more about the issue.
An effective literature review analyzes and synthesizes information about key themes or issue and it is actually the reading of the works of others before commencing on our own research work. Literature review can lead the way for better research. It can help in identifying the relevance of the research.
All works included in the review must be read, evaluated and analyzed. But relationships between the literatures must also be identified and articulated, in relation to your field of research. It should give a theoretical base for the research and help you (the author) determine the nature of your research. Works which are irrelevant should be discarded and those which are peripheral should be looked at critically.
It can be conclude that reviewing literature is an essential part in doing a research project. It can lead the researcher to answer the question problem and help to get the entire source in doing research activities.
b) Write APA format of referencing for a book written by Louise G. Swift and Sally L. Piff in 2010 titled “quantitative methods for business, management & finance”. The book is a fifth edition published by Macmillan Publisher Limited,
