Michael Joseph Jackson
( August 29,1958-June 25,2009) K, Like most of us whose lives are filled with music, so was Michael Jackson’s life. Though he passed away his music lives with us, especially his millions of fans across continents. Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, is so versatile and multitalented; he was American singer-songwriter, dancer, actor, choreographer, businessman, philanthropist, and record producer. Above all these, he is recognized as the most successful entertainer of all time who is one of the most influential. His contributions to music, dance, and fashion, and much-publicized personal life made him a global figure in popular culture for over four decades. He popularized a number of complicated dance techniques, such as the robot and the moonwalk. Descriptive words that have been used to characterize him are “unstoppable juggernaut,” i.e., he seemed to be an overwhelming, advancing force that seems to crush everything in his path with his instantly identifiable voice, eye-popping dance moves, stunning musical versatility and loads of sheer star power, He just may be one of the most popular back singers ever.
His Legacy
His achievements include the following: * 12 music hall of fame awards * Two times awarded the Rock and Roll Hal of Fame. * Several Guinness World Records(including the most successful Entertainer of All Time) * 15 Grammy Awards (including the Living Legend Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award * 26 American Music Awards (more than any other artist, and including recognition as Artist of the Century) * 17 number one singles in the US (including four as a member of the Jackson 5) * Estimated global sales of over 780 million records, making him one of the best selling record artist ever * 1982 album Thriller remains the best selling album of all tome, having sold more than 110 million copies worldwide * Four of his other albums
