Michael Oher Biography Essay

Football is more than just the annual Superbowl, or large men tackling each other for money. Football has paved away futures to individuals where they thought all hope was lost. Football paved an extraordinary future to the All-American NFL's, Michael Oher. Oher was introduced by Michael Lewis, in his book “The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game.” The book revolves around the life of Michael Oher, who had a rocky past but seemed to look past all of that, and become one of the most known NFL players. Born and raised in the streets of Memphis, Tennessee; Oher was one of twelve children born to a cocaine addict of a mother. As a kid, he repeated his first years of school and put into foster care at the age of seven. He had been in and out of foster care homes, and attended a total of eleven different schools. He had been living with auto-mechanic, Tony Henderson, where Oher enrolled at Briarcrest Christian School.
