Michael Vey Prisoner of Cell 27

Assignment: Persuasive Writing Passage

Michael Vey was the main character in a book I read called “Michael Vey: The Prisoner of Cell 25” that I enjoyed a lot. The book tells a story of a boy who lives with his mother in Idaho. He has a very special power, the ability to shock people. But, he uses it for good by fighting evil. From zapping three bullies at school to “the rise of the Electroclan”. The main character, Michael, would be a good role model for seventh grade students because he is smart, curious and cautious.

Michael illustrates that he is smart by coming up with a way to hide the tic’s caused from his tourette’s syndrome by dropping a pencil on the floor. Sometimes he has to drop it several times and everybody just thinks he’s clumsy because he kept dropping his pencil during every class. I think it is a good trait to have because being smart can help people become successful and avoid dangerous situations. Intelligence can also help people learn how to deal with problems more effectively and successfully. In today’s world, being smart can help you in life by being able to work towards and get a good job, being successful and having a satisfying life. The main character is also a curious person because in this story; he tried to test how many volts he could get from his electric powers. Another example is the way Michael was able to figure out the powers of the others and formed the Electroclan. Curiosity is a good trait to have because it keeps your thoughts moving and alert. Being curious will also lead to situations that would help you learn more about people and all sorts of other things. Being curious is a good trait to have when you are older because it can let you learn so much about the world around you.

Michael is a very cautious person because in the story he does not tell a cheerleader, that he cares about, his secret. He tries to learn more about the girl before he tells her.

A characteristic that Scout has is that she is curious. This curiosity stems from her being young, talked down to and not knowing much about the people around her. Scout is interested in knowing more about her mother, so she can feel closer to her. She asks about how her mother looked, how she acted and if she loved her mother. Noticeably, she is curious about her mother and she is looking for a connection between her and herself. Along with being curious scout can also be described as a tough person.…

In life the trait I usually associate with is intelligence in a lot of situations; for example when i was playing football during gym i made a strategic plan that got my team through the whole game. In that moment i showed tremendous intelligent strength. Two characters Uncle Basil from “You can't take it with you” and Janie from the book Wake they are both very intelligent because they are good thinkers and are good at coming up with plans. First of the characters is Uncle basil by making people question his intelligence because he is secretly smart. “Uncle Basil lives in a house very small for his money questioned his family” (Wuorio 1).…

One of the best characters at showing off their traits was Johnnypateenmike. Johnnypateenmike’s trait is that he is very nosy and curious of everything that was going on, on the island of Inishmaan. He always wants the inside scoop so that he could be the first to tell the whole town of his news. Much of the time, he did not care how important the news was, but he cared that it was news and he wanted to share it with everyone. For example, he saw in the newspaper that there was a sheep with no ears and then he told the whole island about this sheep, even though no one really cared. Another example of Johnnypateenmike’s curiosity is when Johnnypateenmike is eavesdropping on Babbybobby and Billy Claven’s conversation about Billy’s letter. Johnnypateenmike eavesdropped and then wanted to know what the letter was about. So, Johnnypateenmike continued to ask Babbybobby what it said. Johnnypateenmike never found out what the letter said but it took until he was hit in the head with a rock for him to stop asking about that letter. Even then, Johnnypateenmike asked Doctor McSharry what the letter said. It just shows that Johnnypateenmmike loves his own curiosity. His nosiness and…

Lewis excelled with foreshadowing “When Tom Lemming Walked Into the Football Meeting room at the University of Memphis, looking for Michael Oher, the ghost of Lawrence Taylor was waiting”(N.P.). This alluded to the future when Michael would become the most sought out offensive linemen but it gave an insight of what people in the realm of football thought of Michael instantly without knowing him. Lewis exceeded expectations by working with real life quotes to develope the charters” “It was really unusual to see a kid with those kinds of defects that wanted an education” he said. “To want to be in this environment. A lot of kids with his background wouldn't come within two hundred miles of the place””(N.P.). By including this real life quote the author added to the tone of how people categorized Michael. Lewis did well with displaying how Leigh Anne felt about Micheal without flat out saying it “The next day, Afternoon, Leigh Anne left her Business she had her own interior decorating outfit- turned up at Briarcrest, picked up the kid, and took off with him”(N.P.). This exhibits how Leigh Anne felt about Michael she cared for him just like he was her own son. People treated Michael diffrent because of how he appeared but not the Tuohy's they treated him just like a member of the…

To start with, he is very smart and intelligent because he says, “And now a new anxiety seized me-the sound would be heard by a neighbor! The old man’s hour had come! With a loud yell, I threw open the lantern and leaped into the room. He shrieked once-once only. In an instant I dragged him to the floor, and pulled the heavy bed over him. I then sat upon the bed and smiled gaily, to find the deed so far done. But, for many minutes, the…

The style of writing I m presenting is a persuasive intent, in the form of a letter expressing a point of view. I m writing this piece from the view point of Michael Gallagher, to demonstrate that justice and truth is vital in resolving conflicts. The reason I chose this particular character is because Michael is the main personality in the context. I choose Michael’s best friend to write this letter to because he would not be uncomfortable expressing his feeling of loosing his son Aiden. My target audience is not only Michael’s best friend but also families of all victims that were affected in the bombing. I have used calm but a serious tone to this particular context.…

Every habit man has so far acquired has a long history behind it. Some habits are skin deep like polite manners; others are deep-seated like willing submission to conscience. However, these habits can at times lead us to be unintentional victims. “Habit rules the unreflecting herd,” as stated by William Wordsworth shows how one can effortlessly be subdued by prevailing groups. On the other hand, “Habit rules the unreflecting mind,” shows how someone can be subservient to ones own unconscious actions. Whether one succumbs to the habits of a herd or the mind, the end result is the victimization of oneself.…
