PHILADELPHIA -- The Eagles' Michael Vick put an end to the suspense, at least for Sunday's game, as to who would start at quarterback against the Dallas Cowboys.

"I'm not playing this week," Vick said. "Not this week."

Vick pulled his hamstring in the first half of the Oct. 6 game against the New York Giants. He has been considered day-to-day by coach Chip Kelly and was active for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay. Before Thursday's practice, Kelly said he would not rule Vick out for the Dallas game.

Afterward, Vick ruled himself out. Nick Foles, who was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against the

The Eagles' Michael Vick, left, ruled himself out for Sunday's game against the Cowboys, meaning Nick Foles will make his second straight start.
Kelly has been vague about what happens when Vick is able to play. After first saying Vick would remain the starter, Kelly said this week he would evaluate "everything" once Vick was healthy.

The first-year NFL coach was asked Thursday if he believed a player could lose his starting job because of injury.

"I think it all depends on the individual situation," Kelly said.

Foles can make the situation even more interesting with a strong performance against Dallas. A native of Austin, Texas, Foles faced the Cowboys twice last season, once in relief of the injured Vick and once as a starter. The Eagles lost both games, but Foles completed 44 of 66 passes for 470 yards, two touchdowns and one

Regardless of Manning being released by the Colts, the Brady and Manning rivalry are a series of games between the two greatest quarterbacks in the NFL. As was previously stated, Brady has played with the New England Patriots since 2000 when he was picked in the sixth round of the NFL draft. Manning, however, was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in 1998, in the first round of the NFL draft and played for the Colts until he suffered a neck injury. “Brady, and Manning have played one another a total of seventeen times,” with Brady leading the series 11-6. Although Brady leads the overall series, the two are currently tied 5-5 over the last ten seasons (Myers 23). They’ve also met five times in the NFL playoffs, with Manning leading the series…

Although both incidents are horrifically violent. Vick’s apology was more acceptable to the public than Tyson’s. Although both still are facing public scrutiny till this day, Michael Vick has repaired his image and has gained back plenty of new endorsement deals, including a former endorser Nike, and now is playing for the Eagles. Mike Tyson, however, is still seen as ignorant and has never boxed after the incident. The aftermath of these two athletes reflect on their apology: Vick enabled trust into his audience and stated that he would change, and now he has a successful football career. On the other hand, Tyson’s carried off an arrogant and prideful attitude, and now his boxing career has…

As a 10 year football player I have always made sure my safety was my number one priority when it came to playing in the games. Unfortunately my style of playing came with a price and throughout those years I received 4 concussions. Although I never had any suicidal thoughts or had any major head trauma I realized that the style of playing throughout my high school career was pretty ruthless. Even though the pace of the game in high school is nothing compared to the big leagues the amount of concussions that high school players are receiving are sky rocketing through the roof and is slowly starting to increase every year. This is where it all begins with concussions in high school and if you continue to play in college and get drafted into the NFL those number of concussions will only increase. Players in the NFL have said when it comes to concussions, it all starts with that very first concussion that you get in youth football. Anytime when an NFL player commits a violent illegal hit it is resulted in a…
