Racial Microaggression To my understanding microagrression is somewhat the same as discrimination, people judging other people based on their skin color or cultural background. The article mainly focuses on white americans use of microaggression based on the accounts of other races. Based on the reading people discriminate either unintenitonally or intentionally and conciouslly or unconciouslly. No matter what color our skin is, where we come from, or who we are, every single person has either used mircoaggression or has it been used on them. Although the article makes some good points the view of white americans microaggression towards others, the author only introduced how, as humans, interaction between races leads to some sort of racial comment/insult. Microagression happens everyday, to anyone, at any time. It happens in any situation like talking to our firneds or classmate and even in proffessional settings. when the author talked about his own experience o a plane, he questioned whether or not it was because of their skin color or if it was at random that they where chosen to move so the plane can be balanced out. To me, i think we sometimes take things people say to be racist and have means to hurt us, when they can could have meant it in another way or they didnt mean what they said to affend anyone. Living on an island we experience a lot of racial comments that we sometimes do not notice or take to an offence because we're so used to it being in our everyday convosation. Even in the groups we hang out in, we joke around and tease each other or other people for fun.
