Middle School Book Report
the main character in my book middle school is james and this book is written by James patterson he is a very independent boy who just likes to sit at home and do nothing all day hes a calm,kind,boring person but when it becomes summer his parents send him to a camp called camp wannamorra and he doesn't want to go to but when he gets there out of all the cabins he gets the worst one called the muskrats with all the kids who gets picked on and thats makes him feel like he's gonna have a long summer with bullies.

but all of the bigger kids start to mess with him and his friends as he already new they try to start sneaking in there cabin at night and mess with them they try to make james and his friends scared all of them are scared to go anywhere

    1. Howard Zinn, author of A Peoples History of the United States believes that American history is influenced the most by the following concepts: class, racism, and a bias against the government elitists. Zinn is able to showcase these ideas by featuring the viewpoint of those who are commonly swept under the rug; the conquered, enslaved, worked and dominated. Zinn brings to light that America has been run by rich white males for most of this nations existence, and the assumption that the upper, middle and lower class all want the same things is utterly nonsensical. Racism, one of the largest parts of American history, is a constant theme throughout the book. Whether it be the black people of Africa, being enslaved and traded like inanimate objects or the Indians being massacred and killed off by disease. Zinn focused his book on the opinions and viewpoints of those not spoken for and made it clear of his opinions of the rich white men that have controlled the United States for most of it's existence. In the chapter The Coming Revolt of the Guards he showcases the idea that most American people have a distrust for the government considering most of them are of the upper class. Zinns ideas, throughout the book, stress a basis of equality over freedom, an active national government over state government, greater women's rights, and gave no religious opinions making him more secular by omission. These ideas by definition are of a liberal standpoint, making Zinn's book with more liberal contributions.…

    When Kevin and Dana arrive back in 1976 they make love. Feeling lost, Kevin and Dana agree they felt most at home on the plantation. Kevin seems to be an image of Rufus, and the Weylins and their houses are similar. Kevin grew out his beard during the years he was there to help disguise him, because he was helping freeing slaves. He is unable to remember how to operate any device like the TV or typewriter. Kevin gets upset and angry at Dana as she gets dizzy. When Dana arrives, Rufus is face down in the mud, because he had been drinking. Nigel carries him to the house. Weylin who is now much older agreed to let her stay as long as she continues to save Rufus’s life, in agreeance she makes a deal that if he was to beat her again she will stop helping Rufus. Tom, angrily ordered Dana to go tend to Rufus and if anything was to happen to him he would flay her alive. Nigel believes Rufus has ague but when Rufus complains about his body aching she knows it’s not the ague. When Dana recommends a doctor, Weylin denies it, that she can save him and if she was to fail she would suffer. For days Dana gave Rufus aspirin and made him eat. Since Dana had last been to the plantation, Alice had three kids by Rufus, but with only one surviving, named Joe. The other two had gotten sick and the doctor bled them out, which she blames Rufus for because he wanted the doctor. Dana is disappointed that her ancestor, Hagar has yet to be born. The other slaves are mean to Alice because they think she enjoys being with Rufus. Nigel and Carrie have three sons, and they hate seeing them having to be slaves. When Rufus finally gets well, his father has a heart attack. Dana tried to save his life but was unable to. Rufus blames his death on Dana. For punishment he makes her work in the fields. She is whips throughout the day for not working fast enough, and then passes out. When Dana wakes, Rufus is over her. She goes to the house to tend to her wounds and goes…
