One of the major issues mentioned in the case is about corporate social responsibility. Dentex Corporation came up with the styling new line of car, Rento. It was considered as a rushed project, thus they skipped preliminary survey. The design was dominated by style different from the other Japanese and European cars, which lead to the placement of fuel tank behind the rear axle (Dentex Corporation, PDF document). According to a study conducted by EducationNext, “moving to middle school leads to a substantial drop in student test scores in the first year of the transition, and the relative achievement of middle-school students continues to decline in the subsequent years they spend in such schools.” One aspect of the educational system that I think can be vastly improved is middle school. Although middle schoolers are faced with numerous challenges, the middle school curriculum does not allow students to explore their interests and more importantly, doesn't challenge students enough. In middle school, there is not a lot of advanced coursework that students can complete. This is why I believe that middle school students should have the opportunity to take a more strenuous curriculum by allowing them to take high school classes, as this system will give students the curriculum that they need to succeed and it will give them an abundance of time to explore their interests.…

Many students claim that middle school is exceedingly straightforward and easy, whereas others claim that middle school is complex and difficult. For those who succeed in school and claim school is easy say that because they work diligently. It’s not because they are naturally talented. The students who say middle school is difficult and flounder in their studies say school is difficult because they don’t work assiduously and they don’t have perseverance. In fact, there are several kids at school who are talented fail their classes. This is because they don’t have grit and they are also often too lazy to do their work. In my own case, I am considered as one of the naturally talented people. Many of my peers think that I receive good grades because I am talented. However, I know this is not the case. In reality, I have been recieving good grades because I have been working diligently. Most homework assignments in middle school require hard work, critical thinking, and perseverance(which means no procrastinating). There are also many conundrums and…

Middle school was both exciting and frightening. It was exciting because I was able to switch classes and it made me feel older, however it was frightening because I had to impress more than one teacher and adjust to their teaching methods. The first day of middle school was different because that year my father could not see me off to school. My father died unexpectedly a few weeks before my first day of middle school which only added to the stress. Overall my first day was still pretty exciting because I knew I was going to meet new people. I was excited to see some of my old friends in the same class with me. I thought the work was going to harder since I was older, but it was not much different from elementary.…

In order to be an effective middle school educator, it is imperative to understand the developmental complexity of young adolescents. Students aged ten to fifteen experience irregular personal changes that call for certain needs. Not only are students at this age diverse in their backgrounds, but also they are also diverse in their development. During the middle school years, young adolescents experience a number of intellectual, physical, social, emotional, and moral changes. Middle schools need to be developmentally responsive meaning that they need to consider the particular nature of students in sixth, seventh, and eighth grade while making school decisions. Given a choice between a quick temporary fix and a permanent long term solution, we as a country always chose the quick fix. The moral policing brigade is one such example.
