Paris after hours In the movie “Midnight in Paris”, there is a lot of interesting sights in one of the most beautiful places in the world. As the film opens, Woody Allen showed us how Paris is beautiful in the morning, elegant in the afternoon, and magical in the evening. He showed many iconic shots of Paris at its most touristic points like its beautiful streets under the rain, the famous river in the city ‘La Seine’, and the broad gardens. It makes the city a beautiful destination for famous artists and writers. The movie shows a nice combination of Paris in 2011 and Paris in the past. It showed when Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Picasso, Gertrud Stein, and Salvador Dali lived there. Woody also showed us the city of Versailles and Monet’s gardens in Giverny. In addition, the beauty of the sights and the photos grabbed the viewer’s attention to want to watch this movie and to discover information about some of the most famous artists in the early 19th century. The movie “Midnight in Paris” is a love story. The movie starts off by introducing us to a couple soon to be married. The main character in this movie is named Gil. Gil is a play writer who is famous in Hollywood. But Gil is striving to write his first novel. The novel is based in Paris in the 1920’s. He dreams of one day living in Paris but his wife Inez thinks otherwise. She is supportive of her husband’s dreams but doesn’t find Paris as romantic as he does. While in Paris Inez sees an old lover of hers named Paul. They start to hang out with them every day and Gil feels like an outcast. His wife is paying attention to Paul because he is very intelligent and handsome. One night they all go dancing except Gil. He decides to walk back to the hotel, but he gets lost. Exhausted from the walk, Gil decides to sit down. As he sits down the clock strikes twelve and an old fashioned car appears. A group of people invite Gil to tag along with them.
