4. How does fantasy and imagination influence the way we see the world, how we see and behave towards each other? Is there really room in the world for dreamers?
Fantasy and imagination play a big role in the book due to the fact that it is a fantasy book about tangled lovers. They are also very important in the world because they help people look at things a different way, even if it is not possible, or very unlikely. Our imagination is almost always positive which is why we get hope from it, to keep moving forward and the capability to follow our dreams.
Such as when Helena was telling herself that Demetrius will wake up and love her one day. She was imagining Demetrius another way. Even that it was very unlikely; she still imagined it, which is why she still tried. Imagination gave her hope to keep trying until she succeeded, no matter how many times she got told strait up that Demetrius did not love her. (Act.2 sc.2 lines 218-219) “Tempt not too much the hatred of my spirit, for I am sick when I do look on thee”.
Imagination also lets the brain defy the laws and just brainstorm ideas, possible or impossible. One often imagines what they desire to have or be, a great example is Lysander. Lysander was very determined to convince Hermia’s father that he was just as good for Hermia as was Demetrius, if not better, (Act.1sc.1lines 101-112). They were so happy when they were together that there imagination of a place that they could be together and alone without being affected by the Athenian law suddenly gave them the idea to run off to the forest. This is how powerful the influence your imagination can occasionally have on your mind.
Dreaming is a vital tool in our society because it helps people slip through the boundaries and create something unique in ones mind that when shared can entertain or help the population with ideas and suggestions that could create something big. That is why I believe
