World War I was a constants back and forth battle. In world history, it is considered the lethal conflict causing over 38 million casualties. Germany never thought that their attack on July 28th of 1914 would cause four years of world chaos. The Great War revolved around European territory and most thought it would be over with within six weeks. German soldiers went into war with the mindset of being “home by Christmas” only to be stuck in a deadly Trench Warfare for the next four years. The strong mindset of militarism, imperialism and alliances took the a small conflict and turned it into the First World War. A cause in World War I was influenced by militarism. The ambition to establish a forceful military in which its capabilities are effective and aggressive enough to protect. European government such as Napoleon Bonaparte, was a strong military dictator which later brought more military leaders into the governing party. This greatly influenced the mentality of future generations. Civilians since birth had a military forced mentality which implied that military comes before anything else. Countries in fear of getting involved in war relied on the alliance system. Therefore, the need for alliances from different camps and locations in Europe was crucial. In 1882 the Triple Alliance begun which included Germany, Italy and Austria. The treaty for this alliance was renewed in 1912, two years before the war begun. The alliances consisted of the Third Alliance, Franco- Russian Alliance, Entente Cordials and Anglo- Russian Entente. When the Franco- Russian alliance went against Germany their alliances were in support of each other. This brought in all of the alliances in contribution to the war
