This time we were defending St. Vith, Elsenborn Ridge, Houffalize, and Bastogne in the cold forest. As the German’s began to move in deeper, I had a feeling that I needed to move somewhere that would be a good defense point against the Germans. Right away I knew it was Matthew’s voice and that he was injured pretty bad. I hear the cry get louder and louder until I find him laying against a burnt tree after being shot twice in the arm. I made a sacrifice to take him to the medic center instead of defending my troop. It was a long walk to the medical center, but it was worth saving my friend’s life. I was glad he was ok, but one of the shots in his arm hit one of his bones and made a big dent inside of it. So Matthew couldn't battle and defend with the remaining troops that were still alive.
