End of unit assessment
‘Millions’ by Frank Cottrell Boyce is outlining the adventures of two brothers, Damian and Anthony, who discover an enormous bag of money when a robbery goes wrong. Damian is the younger brother out of the two brothers, he is an down to earth person, he believes in saints, as he thinks that this will help him to reunite with his mother, who is dead also Damian likes to help the poor. The playwright has used a variety of dramatic techniques to create dramatic tension, such as the tone of voices spoken by the characters. ‘He’s really threatening now’ at this point the tone of voice should be loud and sounding angry.
The main characters in scene 7 were Anthony Damian’s older brother, Damian and the man. All the characters should be wearing different clothes at different times, depending on what is happening. Anthony should wear plain simple clothes like; a pair of blue jeans, and a half sleeve grey t-shirt with writing on it. Damian should also war plain simple clothes like; black track-suit bottoms and a plain white t-shirt. The man should wear black jeans, a plain black t-shirt with a black jacket with a green hat. I choose these clothes for Anthony and Damian because they have just came back from school and should wear some comfortable clothes. I choose these clothes for the man so that he would seem spooky to the audience and sound really threatening. I would like the audience to sympathise with Damian because he thinks that he is helping someone, but actually the man was taking advantage of him and his innocence. The main characters should look angry and realistic so that the tension and suspense could be developed.
First when the saints come, the stage should be set as Damian’s bedroom. The lighting should be bright as it is still daylight. The light should be focusing on the saint, so that it looks realistic. The second part of the scene should be near Domain’s hermitage, so the stage should be set as a wrecked
