Mini Documentary 'Behind The Tunes'
Searching for a model presentation was quite a fun task. I found many great websites and text presentations that demonstrated a good amount of information for people that wanted to know about the particular subject. However, I have always had the desire to do a video to reveal my information about Disney revolutionary ideas. After going through different possible models, I stumbled upon a video that caught my eye. That video is called “Behind the Tunes: Forever Befuddled”. It is a mini documentary about how the character “Elmer Fudd” from the Looney Toons got created. The series is called “Behind the Tunes” and it features many other Looney Toons characters as well. This mini documentary is made available online through different streaming …show more content…
First, whenever the animators or critics mention something about the Elmer character, a clip related to what they just said plays. Second, there is music or clips related to the character/show playing in the background about 95% of the time, even when the people are talking. Other presentations in the same genre also emphasize the number of related clips are demonstrated in the video. The way the documentary starts is with the classic Looney Toons introduction along with text description about what character the documentary is going to talk about. Following that introduction, a clip related to the show/character plays. Furthermore, it ends the same way it start, with a clip related to the show/character playing. The documentaries in the “Behind the Tunes” series are about three to six minutes long. However, that is because they are mini videos sharing the key information about the subject. Of course, there are always longer documentaries that can go up to three hours …show more content…
The “Behind the Tunes” series is as credible as it gets. It was made by the actual creators of the Looney Tunes characters and as a result the sources are not cited. However, other mini documentaries made by independent individual cited their sources in the YouTube description box or at the end of the video. The language is informal. The people narrating the information talk to the audience as if they were having a normal conversation with a friend. They also use language specific to the Looney Tunes characters. For example, there is a moment where a Looney Tunes historian said “beep beep” in relation to the “Road Runner” character. That is something that only people familiar with that particular character can understand. That is why it is important to show a clip related to what the people have said so that the viewers can have a better understanding of the information presented. It is even more vital to have clips playing throughout the video if the viewer has not seen a Looney Tunes episode related to that character before. The way these mini documentaries are structured can keep the attention of almost any type of audience but it is aimed for people interested in the history of these animated

His mother is filmed showing the film crew pictures of Darren during his childhood. The pictures are then displayed on screen in a presentation style as Darren’s mother talks about funny stories of him. By having the archival footage they give insight into how innocent and lovely some of these teens lives were and that anyone could be in the position they are in now after making a few bad choices. The graphics in The OASIS also play a big part in introducing new characters and building relationships between them. If a different person is presented in the documentary then their name appears in unobtrusive white writing.…

point. Louis Menand explains that an essential documentary's purpose "Is the impulse to catch life off camera, to film what was not planned to happen, or what would have happened whether someone was there to film it or not" (1). Most authors have their own style when it comes to relaying the information in the documentary. The style of the documentary is important in making the film a good one or a bad one. I enjoyed watching all three segments of the 1950s documentary. So much more happened in the 50s besides what you see in Grease or Happy Days. There were fast cars and poodle skirts, but there was also war and polio. I did not know much about the disease polio. I had heard of the iron lung, but I did not know it was used to treat polio. I liked the music that went along with the video. I think it is fun to listen to how music changes over time, especially when comparing it by decade.…

The use of archival footage is used a lot throughout this documentary showing mainly clips of Star Trek relating to the topic that William Shatner is narrating about. This makes it easy to show what the 'futuristic' technology Star Trek had at the time so we can see and compare it to today's modern technology that we take for granted. One of the more interesting film techniques that was used in the documentary was a segue which was used when William Shatner walked up to a giant rock, then an edit was used to…
