3. Mini Marker Personality Inventory (Saucier, 1994)
For personal antecedents of workplace bullying Mini Marker Personality Inventory (Saucier, 1994) was used (see Appendix D).
The Mini Markers Personality Inventory consists of 40 adjectives with scoring on 9 point rating scale (1=Extremely inaccurate, 2= Very inaccurate, 3= Moderately inaccurate, 4= Slightly inaccurate, 5= Neither inaccurate nor accurate, 6= Slightly accurate, 7= Moderately accurate, 8= Very accurate & 9= Extremely accurate). Mini Marker Personality Inventory has 22 reverse items (5, 6, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, 23, 24, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 37, 38, 39, & 40). It is scored by adding up the numbers that have been circled for each of these traits, so that it ends up with 5 scores, one of each of the traits. High score on any trait means that the individual possesses the qualities of that trait while low score indicates the absence of those qualities. Saucier found that the Mini Markers adequately assess “The Big Five Personality” traits, which are (Extroversion, Emotionally Stable, Openness to Experience, Agreeableness, and Conscientiousness). Each trait is comprised of 8 items. The detailed description of these five traits is given below:
i. Extroversion subscale comprised of items ranging from 1 to 8, the score ranges from 40 to 72. This trait has 4 reverse items. High score indicates that the person is extroverted and bold.
ii. Agreeableness consisted of items ranging from 9 to 16, the score range is from 40 to 72 and the last 4 items of the subscale
(13 to16) are reversed. High score on this subscale indicates the presence of this trait and vice versa.
iii. Conscientiousness comprised of items ranging from 17 to 24, and the score range is from 40 to 72, where high score depicts that the individual is organized, persistence, and motivated and vice versa.
iv. Emotional stability comprised of 8 items from 18 to 32. This subscale has 6 reversed items and the person scoring high on this trait is more relaxed, secure, and self-satisfied.
v. Intellect or Openness to experience is comprised of 8 items (33 to 40). Items 37 to 40 are reversed. High scores on this subscale represented that tolerance and acceptance of changes by the individual.
