Miraji Values And Beliefs
Morals, Values, beliefs, and/or lessons presented in the book:
My opinion:
The people of Miraji believe that lying is a sin.

I agree that lying, for the most part, is bad. However, I think it is necessary in order to spare someone’s feelings. The people of Miraji believe that killing your own flesh and blood is a sin.

I believe killing your family is bad, no matter what the circumstances.

The Miraji culture believe that women are inferior to men.

I disagree with this belief completely. Women are just as intelligent and strong as men. Women have equal abilities and should be treated as such.

The Miraji culture believe in beatings as a form of punishment.

I don’t think beatings should be a form of punishment. You could cause permanent harm. It is a degrading form of punishment that belittles the victim. It shows a lack of respect for the victim.

I don’t agree with prostitution because it encourages human trafficking. It is also very degrading for women, especially those who do it because the don’t have any other option for finances. I also don’t think we should look down on prostitutes because most prostitutes are forced to do prostitution by traffickers or because of monetary reasons. We should help prostitutes find better jobs and create a better lifestyle. We shouldn’t look down on them, instead we should look down on the traffickers who sell them and force them into

Lying is sometimes acceptable justable when you are trying to protect others or yourself. For example, Barbara Ballinger says “If you’re hiding Anne Frank in your attic because her life is on danger” (Ballinger P11). This shows that it is okay lie if you are protecting someone.…

To lie or not to lie? We are often faced with this question when stuck in sticky situations. It seems as if lying is our second nature, and that is not a good thing. In the articles “Brad Blanton: Honestly Tell The Truth” by Barbara Ballinger and “Teens Do Their Share of Lying” by Loretta Ragsdell, the authors discuss lying and argue its’ justifiability. I agree with the concept that lying is never acceptable because it is morally wrong.…

I think it is good that you shouldn't say anything at all instead of lying, but in the book, this is said to be the cruelest type of lies. Stereotypes create lies because a group of people's actions caused bad things to happen. Some lies are straightforward, and purpose is to avoid the truth all together. It's seems that the author believes lying is important in order to not hurt peoples feelings and to be successful and happy. Being dishonest is a cover-up for pain, hurt, guilt, or ignorance. I don't agree with author in something's that she says. It is true that lying may cover up pain, but the truth will always solve the problem.…

Do you believe that prostitution should be legalized? This paper will examine the pro and con and my point of view on should prostitution be legalized. Condemnation of prostitution is as old as prostitution itself. Sex workers have often been stigmatized and isolated from mainstream society. Prostitution is the practice of engaging in sexual activity in exchange for immediate payment in money or other valuables. Advocates of sex workers have called for the legalization of prostitution in an effort to provide sex workers with regulatory protection. They think legalizing it would encourage a higher demand.…

I do not agree with that argument at all. I feel that any job a man can do, a women can do it twice as better and correct. I believe this is a fact because women are use to all the stereotypes like this because this such thing has been around for many years. I believe us women play our roles better and we are in fact stronger. For example, Hillary Clinton, our…

Lies are told around the world multiple times during the day. Everyone sitting in this room has probably once today, said a lie. Sometimes lying is understandable for someone’s protection but sometimes the truth is essential to the person. There are multiple things people say in a day that are seen as lies such as “That outfit looks really good on you!,” “It wasn’t me!” and “I’ll be with you in a few minutes.” Honestly is not always the best policy because in the end it does not make everything better. People tell little lies so that they protect someone they care about and not hurt the feelings of another person. Honesty not always being the best policy is showed in The Scarlet Letter, “Tell All The Truth” poem, the “He Lies” video,…

    Why Are Lies Wrong

The debate over the acceptability of lying is a complicated one. Some feel that it is morally wrong and only ever worsens a situation. Others feel that it is acceptable in cases where feelings could be hurt, or if a person’s self-esteem may be lowered. However, there are instances in which lying happens simply to avoid the consequences of a person’s actions, and most would agree that it is morally wrong. Instead of going back and forth between “lying is wrong” and “lying is okay sometimes,” a better use of our time would be learning to improve our honesty with ourselves and with the people around…

All men are created equal; this includes women as well. Over a decade of years, women certainly have come a long way to gain the same kind of equal equality as men, such as being able to vote and being able to join the armed forces and fight alongside men. As growing up I was always told that playing dolls is a girl’s toy and playing a car is a boy’s toy. In my cultural, I was taught that girl couldn’t work in a male job, and I was taught to do housework while the men did nothing around the house. In my house/culture, the men are the provider while the women in my opinion are the servant in which caters to every male in the household. If people were to think about combat in the army many just picture a male behind the military ACU (advanced…

Prostitution is highly debated on whether it should be legalized or not. This “profession” has existed since the beginning of time, and as of now there are currently forty-two million prostitutes in the world, with one million being in the United States. This debate became even more controversial after prostitution became legalized in Nevada. Prostitution should not be legalized because it increases sex trafficking and child prostitution, and legalization will not protect women from harm.…

Prostitution is not an ideal occupation but that doesn’t mean it should be treated like it. Prostitutes are humans and should be treated like such. Legalizing prostitution has more benefits than criminalizing it. The transmission of sexually transmitted diseases and rape can be reduced exponentially by legalization of prostitution. Prostitutes can have a better work environment without the fear of physical violence and other threats. Prostitution should be legalized because it would reduce the rate of sexually transmitted diseases and rape cases while safeguarding prostitutes on and off work.…

The first type of lies I find it good are beneficial lies. These lies usually mean to help and they are harmless that are meant to be tactful or polite. People prefer to tell it to protect the other people or not to make them unhappy. They help avoid hurt and sadness. For example, a father lie to the children that their beloved mother is living happily in heaven. People may think that this is a cheating, but they ought to praise these people who tell beneficial lies instead of criticizing them.…

As children we have all been lied to for generations about frivolous thins such as The Tooth Fairy, Santa Claus and The Easter Bunny. What happens when the truth comes out and feelings are hurt? Then you have to ask yourself was it really necessary? I disagree that lying is sometimes necessary. Lying especially under oath is punishable by law, makes others think of you as disloyal and untrustworthy and is so much more complicated than telling the truth.…
