Misogyny is a term used to describe the hatred towards the women as this hot issue has been spreading all around the world. According to “The New Misogyny” (Martin S Pribble,2012) women have been mistreated long before the first religion appeared on earth. ‘Why are women always viewed as second to men?’ I wondered. If it’s the cultures and societies’ fault, who is the first person in the world who said that women are weaker than men? From my point of view, I always think there is a purpose for GOD to create boys and girls, why doesn’t He just create boys without girls or girls without boys? Can you see the equality from this aspect? Or can you imagine a world which is full of gay societies? If this incident happens, human may undergo extinction very soon. So both genders have the same importance in the world for posterity sake. Thus, I am pretty sure that there should always be equality among women and men.
What I have concluded from the 3 articles I found, are that societies are the culprit of this issue; because of the conservative thoughts that are held firmly by the societies, they view the reason for the existence of the women is to show the superiority of the men. I felt insulted when I saw this statement, it seems like my existence in this world is to show the superiority of the men. To be candid, I don’t deny that men are physically stronger than women but except in this aspect, women can do better in everything than men such as cooking, sewing, gardening and even in academic results, women receive a greater number of the honors degrees at many universities. Because of the societies, women will never be equal as men. I just hope the societies are suffered from Amnesia and let the both genders start all over again so that equality can be achieved. Besides, according to “The New Misogyny”, the Macquarie Dictionary has decided to change the definition of the word misogyny, ‘hatred of women’ to a softer meaning, ‘hatred of women plus entrenched
