TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR EXENSION 2 LIBODE AND EXTENSION 5 NGQELENI

(ENVIRONMENTAL AUTHORIZATION)

Terms of Reference for the Basic Assesment for Extension 2 Libode and Section 24 G Application to give environmental authorization to the existing development in Extension 5.

Background

The need for integrated human settlements in Nyandeni Local Municipality was identified as far back as 1996. This need resulted in the establishment of two human settlements, Extension 2 Libode which was earmarked as a middle income residential precinct as well as Extension 5 Ngqeleni which was earmarked for low cost housing development. The two townships were established in Terms of the Townships Ordinance 33 of 1934. Extension 2 Libode and Extension 5 Ngqeleni are a mixed use development with Residential and Business sites. In terms of Government Notice R386 of 2006 an environmental Impact Assessment/ Basic Assesment is necessary for the associated infrastructure for the two housing developments.

Project title

The project will be termed as “Basic Assessment for Extension 2 Libode and Extension 5 Ngqeleni”.

The Municipality calls for proposals from suitably qualified Environmental Practitioners to submit proposal to undertake the Basic Assessment for Extension 2 Libode and to Submit a 24 G application to legalize

the development activity occurring at Extension 5 Ngqeleni.

SCOPE OF WORK / TOR

a) Administer, submit to DEDEA in terms of the National Environmental Management Act (107 of 1998) and the National Heritage Resources Act ( Act 25 of 1999) a Basic Assessment report in order to obtain environmental authorization for Extension 2, Libode.

b) To ensure that all requirements and processes in terms of the abovementioned Acts are undertaken and complied with in order to conduct the following;

• Basic Assessment for Extension 2, Libode and obtain

    After reviewing the case file of the correctional officer who is a 7 year veteran, I have notice that there are certain protocols that has to be taken due to the unprofessionalism actions the correction officer has taken in the incident involving an inmate. For the preparation for the meeting I would host, I have reviewed and will reilliterate the code of ethics that was presented to the officer at the time the officer was hired.
