MY FAVOURITE HOLIDAY DESTINATION

BEAUTIFUL BEACHES, CRYSTAL CLEAR WATERS AND the sun scorching down. This is the beautiful island of Mauritius. This is by far on of the best holidays. My family and me departed from Durban international airport on Christmas day at 12 o’clock n and landed in Mauritius 4 hours later. Where we then took a shuttle bus to our hotel troux aux biches, which was set on the edge of the ocean.

A strip of white sandy beaches, a turquoise lagoon with crystal-clear waters, a tropical garden…These are just some of the timeless charms of Trou aux Biches Resort .a luxury hotel in Mauritius. Its situation on the northwest coast of Mauritius ensures one of the best climates and provides the perfect setting for dramatic sunsets. The hotel has a romantic atmosphere for couples as well as being a family friendly resort.

The hotel offers a wide range of activities, which is what made this holiday so fun. Each day my family and me went down to the beach after breakfast. We tanned, went tubing, snorkeled with the colorful fish, went on boat rides, and ate pineapples in the beach. The highlight of my holiday was going parasailing with my sister. I was both scared and nervous at the same time we were about 50ft up in the air!

We would relax on the beach until 5 o’clock as the sky went from blue to gold. This was magical and it was a priceless moment.

After the long days at the beach we would go back to our lovely villa where we relaxed and got ready for the exceptional and tasty dinner that awaited us. Each night there was a different theme, which made it more fun and interesting. The amount of food that the hotel offered was endless and the puddings, ere delicious!

On New Years Eve we even had lobster which I think was not the best tasting but that was a great night as we had African dances on the beach dancing with fire and at 12 o’clock we had the best view of all the fireworks that were beautiful as they lightened up the sky

Shay’s Rebellion is a rebellion started by Daniel Shay in Massachusetts between 1786 and 1787. Daniel Shay was a Revolutionary War veteran and led four thousands rebels in a rebellion against economic and civil rights injustices. In 1787, Shay’s army marched into the United States Armory in Springfield to steal its weapons and to overthrow the government. Shay was unsuccessful however. This rebellion was in a political climate where reform of the Articles of Confederation was seen by people as something that was necessary to do. The rebellion affected the debates at the United States Constitutional Convention and shaped the new government. It drew George Washington out of retirement, which lead to him serving the United States as the first…

We arrived tired after a long flight, and bear in mind the taxi from the airport takes about 45/60 mins to reach the north of the island, Anse La Raie. We were greeted by Sabine (weddings coordinator) and the office manager. The took us into the beautiful seated area, where everything is very tastefully colourful, lots of lime green, pink and orange accessories. They went through the details, times, for breakfast, dinner, lunch etc. We were shown to our room (we stayed in one of the junior suites) which was located on the ground floor, meaning we could walk directly from our room/balcony to the cove in like 30 seconds, (please bear in mind that this is not their private beach which is shielded from see breezes and is totally private.), absolute bliss. The rooms are amazing, a little on the dark side, but sooo beautiful with a living room, bathroom, separate toilet and the most gigantic bed I have ever seen or slept in. The porter decorated our bed on two occasions with our initials and again with “happy wedding” on our wedding night, it was magnificent. We stayed in a Junior suite which benefits from an extra living room compared to the 1001 nights room so is recommended. Our room had a large flat screen TV with a range of satellite channels, DVD player and minibar (which gets refilled daily) included in the all inclusive. All the rooms have a beach view as far as we could make out but the ones nearer the cove are prettier (view wise) than the ones nearer the road entrance of course.…
