Abstract
Revenue generation is the nucleus and the path to modern development. Thus, this study assessed the effect of internal revenue generation on infrastructural development. The research methodology entailed the use of survey research design and purposive sampling method to select respondents from Lagos State Inland Revenue Office..
Questionnaires and statistical data were instruments used for the study. Descriptive and inferential statistics were the statistical tool used for the analysis. The descriptive statistics involves the use of simple percentages while the inferential statistics involved the use of Spearman’s Rank, which is to show the direction of relationship between variables in the study and to show the scale for the data that is interval. Two hypotheses were formulated and the
Spearman’s rank correlation analysis was used to test the relationship between internally generated revenue and infrastructural development. The result showed that there is a positive relationship between internally generated revenue and infrastructural development. The study also revealed the various methods of generating internal revenue, which are the enforcement of tax personnel, contribution, and creating awareness to the public. The findings of the study however show that revenue administration agencies need to be reviewed to generate more revenue in the country.

A descriptive statistic is used to describe a specific set of measurements. (Bennett, 2009). An example of how Press Ganey uses descriptive statistics would be our facility’s quarterly ranking percentile. This information is presented based upon the overall patient satisfaction rating averaged from the responses received from the patient surveys that are returned in the mail. Thus this data is born out of the inferential statistics gathered in the survey. This result is given in a percentage of satisfaction, which is presented every quarter. For example, SMC’s quarterly patient satisfaction rating was 86%. This number is then weighed against other facilities that have the same approximate volume and similar demographics. Based on that comparison, we receive a ranking as compared to these other facilities. Our overall ranking of 86% put SMC in the 60th percentile.…

Statistics provides us with very useful tools and techniques that aide us in dealing with real world scenarios. I have been able to learn several useful concepts by studying statistics that can aide me in making rational and informed decisions that are supported by the analysis results. Statistics as a discipline is the application and development of various processes put in place to gather, interpret, and analyse the information. The quantification of biological, social, and scientific phenomenons, design and analysis of experiments and surveys, and application of the statistical principles are all statistical procedures that are more advanced in nature. Even though the data can be applied to several areas of the human aspiration to implement the theory and methods of modern statistics to various different fields. Many useful elements were included in this course like descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, hypothesis development and testing, selecting appropriate statistical tests and evaluating the statistical results; which aides me to make better decisions in my personal and professional life. The intention of this paper is to be able to review each of these individual elements that we studied throughout this course.…

The analysis of data begins with descriptive statistics such as the mean, median, mode, range, standard deviation, variance, standard error of the mean, and confidence intervals. These statistics are used to summarize data and provide information about the sample from which the data were drawn and the accuracy with which the sample represents the population of interest. The mean, median, and mode are measurements of the “central tendency” of the data. The range, standard deviation, variance, standard error of the mean, and confidence intervals provide information about the “dispersion” or variability of the data about the measurements of central tendency.…

The ability to describe data is an essential asset that comes with statistics. Once strong, reliable, and valid data is collected by the researcher, he or she must then make sense of the data and more importantly, make it understandable. Certain clues to a certain conclusion may be ascertained from simply looking at raw data, descriptive statistics provides an easier way to conclusion. Describing the central inclination of data is done with basic descriptive statistics such as mean, median and mode; data deviation from the center is shown by standard deviation, range and variance. These descriptive methods provide the researcher graphical understanding of the data frequency. Helpful graphics, such as the five-number summary displayed by a box plot, alerts the researcher to outliers in the data and the affect these outliers have on the statistics (Weiss & Weiss,…

The act of the National Revenue Authority came into being on 13 September 2002. The National Revenue Authority has a mandate to administer and collect all taxes, revenues and all penalties as stated in the NRA act. The purpose of the National Revenue Authority is to serve as a central body for the collection and assessment of national revenue. The implementation procedures and policies by the National Revenue Authority will ensure that revenues are collected efficiently by enforcing specified laws through the provision of robust administration. However, the capacity of the NRA was inadequate to efficiently perform its mandates and mobilize the revenue needed for the socio-economic development. Against this background, several donor organizations including Dfid opted to support the capacity building drive of the NRA. This study focuses on Dfid as one of the major donors supporting the NRA. I will attempt to analyze the impact of Dfid intervention in NRA, with specific focus on staff capacity and revenue mobilization.…
