Miss Brill`s powerful imagination lead her to believe many different things in life. She believed that she was elegant and beautiful when ever she wore her fox scarf. When in fact it made her come across as run down and tacky. This shows that Miss Brill`s imagination led her to believe that she was something she wasn`t. While having watched from the bench, Miss Brill observed that the elderly looked like they had came from a cupboard and she found that to be funny. Later in the story we find out that Miss Brill herself had came from a cupboard showing she had imagined that she was nothing like them. Miss Brill was convinced she was an actress. “ Yes, I have been an actress for a long time.” This shows that her imagination truly over powers her reality because she wasn't an actress only a tutor. Miss Brill`s imagination is what kept her going. “Oh, how sweet it was to see them snap at her again from the red eiderdown!” This example shows how her imagination was important because she still believes that her little fox was still beautiful giving her hope that she was still important. Her imagination also let her down because when everything that were important to her became unimportant because she thought it was all a lie. This shows the reader the importance of imagination because it can make people happy, but seeing reality can truly hurt you.
