Have you ever researched any information about LeMoyne-Owen College? Well if you haven’t then that’s my job for today. I attend the high that is held there Hollis F. Price Middle College. My task is to give the information about LOC History, Mission Statement, goals, friends, and what the Mission Statement means to me. So here, I start.

LeMoyne-Owen College was one of the early attemps to teach Africans in the U.S. who had been freed from slavery. Next to the President Abraham Lincoln signing the Emincipation Proclamation on January 1,1863, Lucinda Humphrey, a hospital nurse at Camp Shilon, decided to teach the alphabet to those slaves who had escaped to the Union Camps,

These divisions are Business and Economic Development, Education, Fine Arts, Humanities, Natural Science, Mathematics, Computer Science and Behavioral Science. This combines teaching, advising and support services in a student based environment. This college also provides a foundation of liberal education in all of its academic programs. This curriculum includes General Core (II) program, which provides students with a solid grounding in communications, computation and critical thinking. These programs majors give students the opportunity for in-depth study time in discipline of their choice. Promote the spiritual and moral development of each student. 3. Encourage the spirit of generosity and reinvestment in LeMoyne-Owen College with graduates giving time, talent and financial resources. 4. Prepare students to be able to thrive in a diverse community. 5. Open new vistas of what is possible in the lives of all students by providing educational opportunities to those for whom these may not be readily available, especially the disadvantaged. 6. Foster self-sufficiency, self-confidence, and positive attitudes among our students. 7. Render high quality services to all our constituents-students, faculty, staff, alumni , and all other supporters. 8. Produce high quality and sought-after graduates. 9. Become a resource to address social and economic issues of the community. 10. Contribute the preservation of African American Culture.

The faculty members have so graciously committed themselves to teaching, offering community services and researching to ensure that they are caring out the Missions of the college as they are outlined in the Mission Statement.
