Selected Poem Title: Apart (Les Séparés)It appears to be about how the poet may be trying to forget about a past relationship. For the most part the poem was understandable. I really enjoyed the 4th line in the 1st stanza, it makes it easier to relate to how disturbed the narrator really is. The poet doesn’t use a lot of imagery but he does use metaphors and similes which makes it easier to understand and visualize how he is feeling. The author uses metaphors, similes, and personification. These poetic devices helps create a visual on how the poet is feeling and helps the reader comprehend what the author is trying to say. I believe the emotion that the author was trying to explain is: sadness/ despair. The poem has 4 stanzas, each containing 4 lines. The poet uses repetition throughout this entire poem. This is unique because at the beginning of each stanza and then again at the end of the stanza the author says “do not write” This helps emphasize how the author wants to cut off…

The floor composition is based on two adjacent horizontal bars that are mixed in a central space which are anchored by the vertical column of the fireplace. The space is divided into two areas, the living and dining areas separated by fireplace, but wisely connected. On both ends of this space the two long galleries form triangular areas that are more intimate for relaxing and dinning. And the bedroom is at the second level.…

They only serve 8,000 customers a year, but get 1 to 2 million reservation attempts a year. The restaurant itself is a difficult journey, but once you are there, the atmosphere is said to feel like an artist's home. Eating at elBulli is not just a night out to dinner, it is an experience described as “Willy Wonka” and “Lab-like full of stainless steel.” Guests receive a tour of the kitchen and are then taken to a terrace that overlooks the beach for some relaxing and tasty cocktails. Louis Riel Dichotomy

This passage from the comic book in terms of visual style, proposes isolation as an encompassing theme primarily surrounding the protagonist Louis Riel. For instance, in the first two panels of the strip, although Louis Riel is being spoken to, he is the only figure in the scene so as to be directly “apart from others” as the definition of isolation refers to. Moreover, within these two panels, Louis Riel’s back is even to the unknown figure speaking which further illustrates the message of separateness and also potentially suggests that he does not care, or is not truly committed to what is being said to him as to “turn your back” as a colloquial phrase means to “ignore something or someone.” Also, dual meaning of this phrase is to “refuse…

The family remains very involved within itself. Much of this is Spanish culture. In Spanish-speaking countries, it is not uncommon to find many generations of the same family living under one roof. The Buendia house always has various relatives within it. Yet, this is not the only explanation. The incest of the family is a theme throughout the novel, and is a significant factor in the solitude of this family. If a family rarely turns to others to branch out, it eventually becomes completely turned in upon itself: secluded and detached.…

Primarily, it is a place where linen is stored and where the maids' carts are kept. We must bear in mind that each maid will handle anywhere from 12 to 15 rooms and that each maid will need a cart. The number of rooms on the floor will, therefore, determine the number of maids and, in turn, the number of carts. Aside from the space for the maids' carts, there must be a porter's closet for cleaning supplies, vacuum cleaners, pails, etc. A closed storage area should be provided for the storage of linens. In addition to the maids', porters', and linen supplies, sufficient space should be left for the storage of room-service carts.
