The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) protects human health and the environment and investigates inquiries and complaints from the public regarding environmental matters.
MDEQ staff responds to complaints such as fish kills, sewage issues, illegal dumping, storm water sediment runoff, odors, and other environmental issues. An online complaint tracking system provides information on the complainant, the investigation, and the resolution. MDEQ has staff at three regional
