The University Museum is attempting to teach the visitors history of Mississippi, and how the good and bad can be combined together to form something special and beautiful. Growing up in Mississippi myself many of the stories and history that Lott and the museum attempts to tell are the same ones that have been taught to me. Where we live is known in history and today as and for many things like Bible Belt, slavery, farming, and many more. Lott includes many of the materials relating to these descriptions. The past of Mississippi is very controversy conversation to this day, but the combination of both sides brings people together a shows how well it can workout. The exhibition Apocrypha is a display that everyone can appreciate and learn from no matter where you are from or what you believe. As a fellow Mississippian, Lott has turned the positives and negatives of our home and into a beautiful image that every Mississippian should be proud
