Mitt Romney:
A Superb Politician
Mitt Romney said, “Conservatism has had from its inception vigorously positive, intellectually rigorous agenda and thinking. That agenda should have in my three pillars: strengthen the economy, strengthen our security, and strengthen our families.”
Former governor of Massachusetts Mitt Romney has endeavored to do that agenda in its entirety. He has somewhat succeeded in these three areas, and he desires to fulfill these actions as President of the United States.
Willard Mitt Romney was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 12, 1947. He was raised in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan (Mitt Romney Biography). His father was the governor of Michigan, as he was a presidential candidate, and Mitt stepped foot in every Michigan county while helping his father campaign for his governorship and presidency (Parker). He is a Mormon, and attended the prestigious Cranbrook School. He received his undergraduate degree from Brigham University in 1971; he attended Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School and he achieved a law degree and acquired a Master’s degree in Business and Administration. In 1969, Mitt married Ann Davies and produced five sons. He served as vice president for Bain and Company from 1978 to 1984. Mitt founded the investment firm Bain Capital in 1984 (Mitt Romney Biography). Bain Capital invested in and founded hundreds of companies, including Domino’s Pizza and Staples (Mitt Romney Biography). Ten years later, he strived to be a U.S. Senator for Massachusetts, but was defeated (Mitt Romney Biography). In 1999, Mitt departed from Bain Capital to become the President and CEO of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee, where he served for three years.
