A) SYNOPSIS:
The case study of Arizona soccer camp is focusing on the impact , effects and popularity of the game soccer in the country of United States of America , this study is important for Alan Meeder and Ron Walters two entrepreneurs determined to open a soccer camp for children as a business set up in the area of Phoenix at the Maricopa County, Arizona in the year 1979.Soccer as a sport in the united states underwent various cycles in the past, starting from the late 1800s and early part of 1900s and 2000s a decline in the popularity for the sport was seen ,and the sport gained popularity in the 1960's and in the recent years. This increasing development of soccer created business opportunity for the investor by way of teaching soccer skills to successful players on amateur and professional levels and to provide a beneficial social experience for children between the ages of eight and sixteen (inclusive) living in Maricopa County, Arizona. The case study reflects the sport of soccer was not popular in the American culture and the people of America were not very supportive of the game soccer. In order to initiate a business set up ,the two entrepreneurs in their analysis considered the factors essential in the external and the internal environment and did the SWOT analysis with each of the factors affecting the internal and external environment. The passion, excitement, involvement expressed by the audience has a crucial role for event implementation and value creation. Due to the importance of fans as “co-producers” of the sport service, the hypothesis of this research is that a fan community is a salient stakeholder in the value co-creation process. This research focuses on a fan community of a specific professional football case, the ACF Fiorentina the Florence, Italy football club - a “rich” example for identifying and analyzing the manifold influences and interactions that fans can engage in with their team, the local context and the network of actors as a whole. The knowledge of this case study has profited from several investigations, research and theses carried out within the Master‟s Degree in Sport Management at the University of Florence. A study showed that the lowest participation rate in sports from the lower class is in soccer,(Schaerlaeckens) . The youth in America participate more in basketball or football because it is more accessible to them and they feel a connection to the sport. They feel that they can achieve big things by persevering and becoming great at these sports, but that feeling and passion is not present for soccer.
