Reason for selecting this topic
The topic we had selected for our class project is about inadequate campus facilities in Hong Kong Community College due to the increasing number of students under merging of education system. We selected this topic because it has a close relationship with us and we had experience the impact of inadequate school facilities in person.

Our perspective to this topic
We set our role as HKCC’s Student Press which supports the students and our target readers are HKCC students. Student Newspaper provides the linkage function between students and the administrative person of the school and also acts as an important platform for schoolmates to share their idea, providing information and reporting school news. As we are the editors of HKCC’s student newspaper, we found that our selected news is newsworthiness. It is because appropriate environment and adequate school facilities such as computers, group study room are important factors affect students’ learning efficiency and effectiveness. Hence this news is directly related to HKCC students’ interest. We design the name of our newspaper as 「C人聲音」that represent the voice of Hong Kong Community College students. That’s mean every HKCC students have their right to express their personal opinions.

MMC concept applied in our newspaper
To attract our target readers, we make use of yellow journalism by designing some banner headlines, pictures and colour printing. Besides, we designed the headline as合併新舊制 學校設施「爭崩頭」,which the words「爭崩頭」serves to play up the problem through highlighting the serious impact of increasing number of students in HKCC.
We are providing the surveillance function to students and the school management as we divided the situation into three parts and used some photo that show the current situation of school campus, for example, long queue up for printing machines, crowded computer room.     The no.1 facility that causes problem for the students is the comfort room. The comfort room in public schools nowadays is an eyesore. The odor that the comfort room releases causes illness in students and visual pollution every time the students visualizes the comfort room.The no.2 facility that has serious problem are the classrooms where the students have their classes at. The common students that suffers from this kind of environment are the students have colds, asthma and students that have a kind of ill that are not meant to adapt in this kind of environment. The decorations in the classroom also affects each student’s moods, if the classroom is maintained properly it lightens the moods of the students in the classroom and if the classroom is not maintained properly, you’ll notice how each students in the classroom if they would behave properly or not.
