Within these three stories The Black Cat, The feather pillow, and Sharp objects, they all have similar literary elements: it’s dark and cryptic. They all have deep meanings and gothic elements. They are very different than the usual happy endings bullcrap, and they are more of the tragedy and very morbid type.…
Orenthal James “O.J.” Simpson was accused of murdering his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ronald Goodman in 1995. Twenty years on, his case still remains controversial, but why? Simpson was a star athlete until 1979, where he pursued his dream of becoming an actor (Harris, 2008). O.J.’s alleged murder of his former wife and her friend thrust him into the spotlight, catching the public’s attention, as well as every news station in the U.S. One factor that makes this case so notorious is that there were many flaws during the investigative process, and a lot of them lead to the outcome of Simpson’s freedom from his charges. Many of these investigative errors could have been overcome with rigorous surveillance of officers on the…

In this case well no he didn’t do. 2) Next is concealment, this one he did do by compiling mass amounts of paperwork, and case files from not only the U.S. government, but other companies and governments as well. 3) The third is violation of trust, or abuse of power, and trust. This one is a little tricky because of the law that states on the theft, compiling and use of government documents. He had the power to view these documents and the trust from the government to see such thing so when he went out on a limb and published those in a webpage format then he violated this rule, or element. The other thing is that he is NOT a citizen of the U.S. therefore the first amendment right would not apply to him. Because of this; it is an American document, and doctrine. So implies the Espionage act which he falls under and has violated. So the final question in this topic is he a criminal, well yes he is because of the amount of data, and the amount of sensitive information that he and his team has exposed. White collar crime yes because he leaked in cyber form information that could cause harm, and damages to a nation, person, or group. The tricky part is the prosecution of this case because of the international retaliation act, and the whistleblowers law at here in the U.S. both of these can be seen as a a way to allow him to continue processing…
Gangs are coastally occurring in life they have no discrimination on race or gender causing any one to turn to the path of gang. Many gangs are usually created based on specific race making it easier for people to feel secure when it comes to join them. However as it is stated, “the 18th Street gang was the first Hispanic gang to break the racial membership barrier. Membership was originally open to Latinos. Although most members tend to be of Latino descent, membership has opened to other backgrounds, including Central American, African American, Middle Eastern, Asian, Caucasian, and Native American.” This causes the growth of the 18th street gang to grow and expand larger into the city of Los Angeles.…
Al Capone. Everyone is bound to hear the name at least once in his or her life. The charming, broad smile, the greenish gray eyes, heavy set, and five foot ten and a half; a seemingly normal man. But who was Mr. Alphonse “Scarface” Capone? One reporter comments, “… Here is a man [Capone] who is an enigmatic, a man who nobody knows, not even his closest intimates.’” (Eig 198) What did the public think of “Scarface”? Katherine Geroud said, "It is not because Capone is different that he takes the imagination; it is because he is so gorgeously and typically American." (Mr. Capone Quotes) What was this mysterious man involved in? Al Capone was a complex man who controlled countless illegal businesses and somehow managed to catch the attention and interest of America as a whole.…

There are many factors that limit the utility of police sting and reverse sting operations in today's society and in the policing role. Several enforcement tactics target this approach and force the role of the American police's role more challenging. According to chapter 7 pg. 136, there are limitations to all approaches, both buy-and-bust and buy-and-warrant operations often result in revealing the identity of undercover officers (Hoover,2014). There is also an enormous amount of time consumed in working the case, building the case, and trying to solve the case.…
Jeffrey Dahmer was a notorious serial killer in the late 70’s throughout the early 90’s. What made him stand out from most serial killer’s was what he did to the bodies of his victims. I will also compare what theories relate to Jeffrey Dohmer and what could possibly be the reason why he did what he did.…

White-Collar Crime, or financial crime, is a widespread problem in America that usually does not get the type of attention it deserves. It is perceived as boring and people do not usually care to learn about it. Everyone knows about Blue-Collar crime (Street Crime) and murder, rape, and theft are usually met with feelings of anger and disgust. But unfortunately, White-Collar crime does not stir up the same feelings one would expect to receive from a murder. Fraudulent loans and embezzlement are just as noteworthy, if not worse than Street Crime. But financial crime is ignored most of the time in the media. Financial crime is more detrimental to society as a whole than street crime. It causes greater financial loss and affects a larger amount…
Mob Justice is usually a random act of people that would rather take matters into their own hands. Therefore, they do not testify in court, they instead harshly beat the accuser who has committed a crime. Mob justice is happening all over the world in modern time. There is no specific reasoning on this justice because each person has a different way at looking at each case. There are two ways to look at mob justice: Is it right or wrong? Many people all over the world think that this is a fair way to handle the matter because if they don’t do it themselves; then they are not able to rely on the court systems. Who is to say that if mob justice comes in and beats a person for raping someone, then they have or have not physically committed a crime themselves? Saying so, the other remaining people believe it truly is wrong, and it is not a proper way to handle situations under any circumstances. I believe that mob justice is wrong, to a certain criteria that it. I do not think it is appropriate to resolve anything in violence, especially if it can lead to serious damage or death. I’m not necessarily saying that it is right to violate a crime either, but there are times, when people may have too. Such as stealing food to feed your family, etc. The proper thing wouldn’t be to steal, nor would it be proper to physically attack the…
