Mobile Phone and Technology
Technology: A Savior or Enemy?

Technology has certainly created an opening for humans to embrace and indulge in, offering endless possibilities. Bedazzling us with its far-reaching applications, technology has seemed, at times, indistinguishable from magic. However, there has been much speculation as to whether technology has offered man a more convenient lifestyle by solving problems, or brought his fate to a nasty end by creating more, wide-scale problems he is still unaware of.

Firstly, technology has proliferated greatly, from very simple devices such as the telephone to exceptional, genius-like portable laptops. While these gadgets have made communication more efficient, they have negatively altered our personal lives. Human attitude has changed. People have become too dependent on modern technology and face-to-face communication has become more restricted. We have become more isolated, preferring to deal with our laptops, cell phones, ipads, and machines.

Secondly, with all the advanced scientific discoveries and inventions, people are able to illegally exploit technology in an unethical way. For example, when scientists were able to genetically clone a sheep named Dolly, many ethical issues were raised. While this venture revealed a scientific breakthrough, it also seemed to trespass many people’s morals and religious beliefs. Furthermore, women are now able to conceive a baby through IVF (In Vitro Fertilization). Again, this has created problems with maternity. On the other hand, abortion is widely available as a means of terminating pregnancy. Once again, this emphasizes the wide scope of power that technology can offer to us, yet it questions our moral obligations as human beings in dealing with life forms.

Furthermore, we are sacrificing future generations by not acting sustainably towards our environment. The many industrial productions are constantly polluting the atmosphere, land and sea; and thus, placing people’s health at risk. Congestion in some extreme cases produces acid rain. Marine and land animals have also suffered at the hands of our technological world.

In another sense, technology has developed many destructible weapons that have been used in wars, resulting in many lost lives. On a smaller scale, guns and other dangerous devices are widely distributed and used commonly to conflict grievous bodily harm. Again, this highlights the danger of technology.

Another important issue in society is the increasing number of people using the Internet to commit crimes such as fraud and stealing peoples’ identities. As a result, many people have been the victims of online spammers. Also, people are increasingly taking advantage of illegal downloading which creates a problem for film and music industries. Furthermore, private accounts and systems are capable of being hacked into, proving how risky technology can be.

In conclusion, although modern technology has improved our standard of living it has also harmed our environment and deteriorated the quality of life to a far greater extent. Hence, the society must be aware of the possible ramifications they might face so that they can avoid those problems in the future by not being overly dependent on technology, treating it as a mere aid in life, and not life itself.

Is Technology A Blessing Or A Curse?
We live in a technologically advanced world, where more and more electronic gadgets are going wireless. We have mobile phones, wireless computers and mobile television. Most of it is used for good, but if humans become too attached to technology, it is good for no one.
Even at a young age, my eight year old brother has an opinion on technology. He believes that technology is both good and bad. Technology can teach you all about the world and how everything works, such as animals, plants, and humans. For example, you are able to learn all about dinosaur bones. If there was no technology, no one would be able to see pictures and learn about them. But since we are all lucky enough to have computers and television, it is not impossible any longer to learn all about dinosaurs. However, spending too much time on technology can make your brain small from looking at a screen all of the time. "You can get a virus from going on Facebook and email for too many minutes at a time." Also, from being attached to the computer or electronics, you do not get the exercise that is needed for an average day. Furthermore, if you spend too much time on technology, your socializing skills decrease because what you are doing is socializing with electronics, not with people.
My mom, has suggested that technology is not only a curse, but also a blessing. It has made our lives much easier such as not traveling to so many places searching for one thing, keeping in touch with distant relatives, and can give us loads of information. Technology has also made the job fields, such as the medical field, more advanced. The sky is the limit with all of the knowledge that is involved in technology. However, with all of the freedom in involved technology, relationships can collapse, stealing information is as easy as copy and paste, and people start to rely on computers and devices. In order to have a relationship, communication is necessary, but how is this possible when texting and Facebook and email becomes the communication? Back in the day, my mom had to use a type writer to write reports, and if she made a mistake, she had to start over or cross it out and make it look messy. However, with technology, typing is simple and it is easy to fix mistakes. At the same, students can copy and paste anything with the click of a mouse. She states that, "What makes us human is our inter-personal relationships. We just have to make sure that we don't rely so heavily on technology that we stop developing those connects with fellow humans. It is all about moderation so use technology wisely."
My Uncle, also believes that technology have advantages and disadvantages. Advances in technology have improved our lives, increased our productivity, and allowed us to explore our world and the universe. Technology in medicine, biology, and chemistry have increased the life expectancy of generations. Advances in Electronic technology has moved the world from the telegraph to world-wide instantaneous communications in less than 150 years. However, technology has many curses as well. It has provided the world with weapons of mass destruction so powerful that one bomb could kill millions of people in an instant. Advances in technology has moved the much of the world from rural, farm-based economies, to mega-metropolis cities where little physical activity is performed, crime is out of control, and social relationships disintegrate. Industrial technological advances have allowed giant corporations to be formed to mass produce products, gobbling up scarce resources, and obliterating forests.
Hearing of all this from my family, I have to agree with my little brother, my mom, and my uncle. It is obvious to know how much technology has helped us in our daily lives. In the past, people had to walk miles just to go to school or work. However, thanks to the advancement of technology, people now can either take a bus or drive a car to reach their destination and it is very convenient to move from place to place. Technology is almost everywhere! Now, we can send emails to our friends rather than the old fashioned letters which take so long to reach the receivers. I can easily message to my parents after school to reassure them that I am alright or search for information needed for my school project with just a click on the button. However, despite the many benefits, there are many problems caused by technology as well. For example, in the past, you seldom see people wearing spectacles, whereas now, almost every teenager is wearing spectacles. The reason is because many teenagers now use the computers for so long to the extent that they spoil their own eyes. Also, humans nowadays have relied on technology too much. Teenagers complain when they could not use a computer for a day. Parents complain when the computer crash and that they did not save the file which they were working on. Humans have depended on technology so much that no one would survive if there is no technology in the world.
Too much technology in our lives can cause us to be too dependent and not self-sufficient. We become too lazy and nonchalant. We become comfortable and let our guard down. However, technology has helped our society blossom into a new creation and has helped many people discover things about the word that no one has ever noticed.
-------------------------------------------------

-------------------------------------------------
In these rapidly changing times, Modern technology has been booming and changed our surroundings. It is more and more commonly used in our lives. “Has modern technology made the world a better place?” has become a general debate in the society nowadays. There are lots of positive and negative influences of modern technology. Consequently, we can discuss the benefits and drawbacks of modern technology regarding these of the Internet and mobile phones.

The main reason for advantage of the Internet is information. We can collect all kinds of information through the Internet. It can help widen our horizon and can help us keep pace with the fast changing world just by way of clicking a button. In addition, communication is essential reason why people choose the Internet. We are always using e-mail to keep in touch with others and accompanying development of the Internet, we can contact our friends more conveniently and efficiently. The third important advantage is entertainment. the entertainment of the Internet has become quite successful today, and we can download games visit chat rooms and just surf the Internet. Therefore, the Internet plays a positive role in our lives.

On the other hand, no one can deny the fact that the Internet bas brought many sufferings for us. First and foremost, theft of personal information is the most serious problem of the Internet. That means you will face some people who steal your address ID number and credit card number illegally. Furthermore, virus disrupts the normal functioning of a computer system. Computers connect to the Internet are much likely to catch a virus and can end up crashing a hard disk. Finally, pornography is perhaps the biggest threat related to children’s psychological health and can be easily found via the Internet. As a consequence, there are still many drawbacks of the Internet and damage our social lives.

The above two paragraphs have discussed the advantages and disadvantages of the Internet and it is necessary to discuss the benefits and drawbacks of mobile phones.

The most obvious advantage of mobile phones is that people can contact anybody anytime. Mobile phones have made transmission of information rapidly. Another benefit is that mobile phones are convenient to carry. In earlier times, we cannot use phones without lines, but with many technical inventions created by scientists. Phones are portable today. Therefore, it is true that mobile phones have positive effects on our lives.

However, the development of mobile phones has come some disadvantages .The main reason for it is that mobile phones often disturb our private lives. In a medical research , many people are disturbed by mobile phone calls at midnight. Moreover, mobile phones are bad for young men, especially teenagers. Some of students may play phone games or send messages in class and can’t concentrate on their study. Thus, there is no doubt that there are many disadvantages of mobile phones.

Both sides make sense and technology is like a two edged sword that there are many advantages and disadvantages of technology can be found. With the world’s changes and the development of technology, it is true that modern technology has made the world a better place, though it also has some problems. Therefore, modern technology has more advantages objectively when evaluating its benefits.

This leads to socially stressful military concepts like mutually assured destruction. The duck and cover drills accompany other lifestyle aspects of an advanced technological society.
- New forms of entertainment, such as video games and internet access could have possible social effects on areas such as academic performance.
- Creates new diseases and disorders such as obesity, laziness and a loss of personality.
-computer virus and bug
-privacy and stolen copy right

-no physical stock, easy buy fake product and cheating by people
- people will lose their jobs to machines that will do the work for them
- machines and robots are too complex for most people to us.

The book tries to explain when, how and why technology became a particularly dangerous enemy.…

Technology is hurting people intellectually and socially. Technology influences people to be more isolated because people can now just communicate over social media instead of actually talking face to face. People are beginning to become too dependent on technology. For example, technology is used for maps, socialization, shopping, and even books. People are becoming so attached to technology because they can do literally anything with it. In the novel Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, Montag’s wife, Mildred became so attached to her television set and her “family” that she completely lost her love for her husband. The empty void in her heart is filled with her television and radio. When Montag is describing how technology has made him isolated, he states, “I cannot talk to my wife. She listens to the walls” (Bradbury 78). Mildred became so dependent and attached to her tv that it is the only thing she cares about, even more than her husband. She became so connected with her tv’s and radios that she does not even listen to her husband when he is talking to her. Technology completely took over her life to the point where she became intensely isolated, much like what is happening to people…

Some people might say that technology is a definite positive development with only positive changes. However, although the technological advance have been and is extremely helpful to everyone around the world, people need to think about how people can be too consumed in the technology that they can isolate themselves from the outside world even. Having fun with technology is normal, but we must not forget how to really communicate without the use of texting or email. Communicating face-to-face should be a key skill humans should never lose. The saying, “having too much of a good thing, can be bad,”…

Technology has cut off the way humans interact and speak distracting them from doing basic things like talking, cutting off any social interactions hiding behind a screen. People stop talking to their families, when they do talk they feel very uncomfortable and out of place. Ray Bradbury shows examples of technology getting in the way in his book Fahrenheit 451. Ray shows the readers how the power of technology does affect people in many ways in his book how it suppresses and replaces true human interaction.…

Many of us today are highly uneducated. We rely on technology to give us many answers instead of learning the proper way, like we should have. We have all seen or experienced several changes of behavior due to technology in our society. This change isn't exactly a positive change, though. This leads to poor living habits. For example, lack of social skills. We lose the ability to read body language and understand things. But, many are becoming more violent due to the media. It acts as a barrier between family members. This is also demonstrated in modern times due to electronic devices. People waste their time in front of the screens, most of the time. Looking at African veldt and scenery, David McClean explains, “You’ve let this room and this house replace you and your wife in your children’s affections” (Bradbury 111). I even catch myself turning to technology rather than engaging with my family, because it requires less effort. However, this is so harmful to my family and me, as well as the rest of society, because it will eliminate face-to-face communication and reduce it to online conversations. Although this means of communication appears to be more efficient, it weakens the bond that bind people together by crippling their social skills. The truth is that technology debilitates the transfer of real emotions and expressions that can only be achieved through physical interaction, resulting in the decline of human capabilities.…

Where would people be without technology? They would not keep in contact with the one they met at Casablanca three years ago, or trawling through a photo album of their elementary school classmates. They would not be able to use emoji instead of words to craft a sentence. However, technological advances make people be too immersed in the virtual world and disconnect from people around them. It means that technology has gradually taken the place of the side by side connection and face-to-face conversation. There is a sense of panic about how technology interferes with human interaction. Sherry Turkle, a psychologist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in her article “Flight From Conversation,” uses much credible evidence to explain how the increase of connections among people from miles away has led to a loss in face-to-face and eye-to-eye…

The other night I had a terrible nightmare. My friend and I ignored each other when we were having lunch because we were both busy texting somebody else. I barely remembered our conversation because it was fragmented. After that, I logged on Facebook, on which I had already spent all my spare time, trying to catch up with my 1000+ “friends”. Unfortunately, I found most of them I barely know or see. Oh wait, it’s not a dream. It’s happening in reality. With the rapid development of communication technology, new methods of communication, for example cell phones and the Internet, are popularizing in daily lives and are replacing the old way of communication – face-to-face interaction. The use of communication technology has had negative effects on daily lives: it destroys the quality of personal communication, causes social isolation and leads to many addictions.…
