The exposition to
Mockinjay is when Katniss wakes up from the rebellion from the games she was in during the plan Beetee had planned. She now takes in the name of “Mockingjay” because of the rebellion act she did in games. The rising action of the story is when Peeta Mellark, the teen who was in love with Katniss, makes an announcement about putting a stop to the rebellion act. He is actually brainwashed by the Capitol’s Hijackers. He was also beaten to say what the Capitol wanted to say to District 13 on worldwide broadcast. The turning point happens when a rescue team went out to the Capitol to rescue the people Katniss had chosen to save from the Capitol.
One of the people Katniss wanted back at District 13 was Peeta and they brought him back. But now, Peeta was brainwashed by the Capitol making it hard for the medication team to cure him.
The falling action happens during the trip Katniss, Gale, Finnick, and Peeta are in to the Capitol.
When they travel with a team of rebels to kill President Snow, it actually turns out to be a suicide mission. One by one, most of the team dies by the traps of the Capitol. The Resolution

The book opens with Gale Hawthorne and Katniss slipping away into the woods on the day of The Reaping, which is the only place where they feel safe enough to discuss The Capitol and other problems. Being poachers, they catch their loot of the day and go out to sell it at District 12's black market, The Hob, to Greasy Sae and other customers. Once the game is sold, Gale and Katniss go to Mayor Undersee's house to sell strawberries, an old favourite of the mayor's. When they knock on the door, Madge, the mayor's daughter, answers the door. After a petty argument between Gale and Madge ensues, Katniss returns home to prepare for the Reaping. Because the day of the Reaping is a solemn one, Katniss tries to cheer Prim up by commenting on her dress, a previous Reaping day outfit for Katniss (which is a little roomy on Prim), and says "tuck your tail in, little duck". This displays Katniss' love for her sister.…

This is the story of the 74th Hunger Games and at the center of it is Katniss Everdeen, a resident of the poorest of all the districts, District 12. During "The Reaping", the "Tribute" selection comes to pass and is where Katniss ultimately volunteers to fight after her sister 's name is drawn from the fish bowl. Her male counterpart is the baker 's son, Peeta Melark. Per the rules, only one or neither of these two combatants will ever return to District 12 alive. "The Hunger Games" are treated as just that, games, they are televised in the Capitol and all 12 Districts as people look on, the members of the Capitol cheering along the way and members of each District looking on in sadness as their children are murdered for the satisfaction of the oppressive government. After the tributes are selected they are taken by train to the Capitol. On the train and in the capitol you can see the apparent culture shock in the face of the 2 district 12 contestants. Coming from the poorest district modeled after the coal mining era, where most people live in absolute poverty Peeta and Katniss are taken back by the surplus of luxury and wealth exhibited by the Capitol.…

Today is the day. The day where the Mockingjay unites with another to continue their lives together. Mother and I walk back to what’s left of the Seam, knowing it is a place worthy of a wedding. I found the dresses Cinna left behind for the forced wedding. Now, with Coin and Snow dead, nothing feels forced. I can hunt freely outside the District Limits put in place by the Peacekeepers. I can give to the poor what I catch, and I can make sure everyone is equal. I chose the least popular dress for the moment because I wanted to resist the Capitol to the maximum I could. I hate them for everything they did. Not just the military officials, everyone there. Taking all our resources and killing us off without a just reason. That’s why everyone needs a guiding light. And to me, Peeta’s light shines the brightest. He’s the reason I’m still alive. Because he risked himself to be captured by the Capitol so I would be safe. And only him will I trust to lead me into happiness.…
