Kvinnor i öst bar byxor.

Recently archeological research here has been supported by the Illysium government in hopes to declare that the Lerts originated from there mainland opposed to from the eastern nation of Obscurata. There are approximately 10 islands in between the peninsula on the west and Obscurata to the east. There have been16 sites, from both nations and the islands that have been found, with four of them having undergone excavations. The four excavated sites are Foggy Bottom on Drygalski Island, Echinus Bay on Helios Island, Hecate beach on Erebus, and Lingula Inlet on the mainland of Illysium. (Fig.1) Some of the typical artifacts found from the Nebulosa Islands include; Bone and Ivory tools such as toggling harpoon heads, barbed harpoon heads, hooks and labrets; Obsidian and Chert tools like prismatic cores, both large and micro blades, bifacial discoid scrapers, bifacial burins, bifacial send set points, bifacial points, and bifacial knives. A few ground slate tools were found such as knives and end-set harpoon heads. One site even had igneous rock worked in to…

Charred wood from this feature was radiocarbon dated to sometime between 2010 B.C. and 1850 B.C. (more on this below). It had also been suggested that there may be a house foundation somewhere on the site which would more than likely date to the historic past (Wiegand, personal communication, 2002), and about 75 artifacts from the late 18th and 19th centuries, such as nails, redware, saltglazed stoneware, whiteware, and glass, most of which were found in the top 20 cm of soil, may support the idea that there was definitely such a structure on the site. But these analyses are not included in this report; we are more interested in what happened…

On July 11, 1804, what was said to be the most prominent duel occurred. The duel between Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton was remarkable as it corresponded to the young, emergent nation because it illustrated the bloodshed that politicians would go through for their political reputation. Joseph J. Ellis spent an entire chapter discussing this conspicuous event for that very reason. Ellis purposely made this chapter the first chapter because he wished to provide evidence that supports his thesis and also catches the reader's attention.…

Archaeological data suggests that the date 2200 B.C can divide the occurrence of square ended seals from rectangular ones. Assumedly, any sampled sites with the presence of square ended seals existed prior to 2200 B.C, while the rest of the sampled sites with rectangular seals existed after this particular date. Consequently, we may indicate sites dated prior to or up to 2200 B.C, and sites “B”, “D”, Garam Masala (GM), and Phul-Ghobi Lower (PGL) fits the equation since all of these sampled sites had square seals. On the other hand, rectangular seals were only found in four sites of “B”, “C”, “E”, Tiltandula (T), and Phul-Ghobi Upper (PGU). In particular, site “B” has both of the square and rectangular seals each that may suggests that the site existed prior to 2200 B.C and have the possibility to continue for some time after. In addition, Lower Phul-Ghobi (LPG) and Upper Phul-Ghobi (UPG) were radiocarbon dated back to 2450 ± 70 BC and 2100 ± 50 B.C respectively.…

There is a natural relationship between men and women. They have their individual roles and position in the society. These roles and positions of men and women are not written in verbatim in any book of law. Instead they are manifested in the culture of the society with various external factors that can be influenced by society’s religion, political, geographical and others. These societal roles are passed on from generation to generation and reflected through literary works. The works of the writers collected from various stories are replica of the actual scenes that happen in the society. The men and women from the past are understood by the books written. Throughout time, gender positions and roles have been changing. These changes can be seen through various works throughout history.…

Beginning with the inland site at Foggy Bottom on the Dygalski Island along the western most chain of the Nebulosas, archaeologists have been able to date a single occupation at 9500 ± 350 B.P. by carbon dating. This site contained large and micro blades of obsidian and chert along with the numerous bifacially worked artifacts such as points, scrapers and end-set points which suggest that this site was occupied by middle stone age hunter-gatherers. However, based upon the sparse faunal assemblage of mostly forgeable sea creatures (i.e. various mollusks: clams, periwinkle shells, sea urchins), I imagine these peoples were less hunter and more gatherers. Next, the earliest site at Echinus Bay on Helios Island, Level 3, which has been carbon dated to 8000 ± 300 B.P, sees a decline in the usage of flaked obsidian and bifacially worked tools and a rise in bone and ivory hooks. The introduction of hooks sees a dramatic…
