II. Introduction
There are about 11 million people in the Sahel are suffering from food insecurity. Base on the UN, NGOs and Senegal River Basin Development Authority, Sahel region had very low rainfall over the last year, which will cause drought in Sahel. Since it is hard for them to farm, they almost used up all the food stocks and children under 5 are suffering from malnutrition. The situations of children remain worrisome.
One possible causes of food insecurity is Environmental problems. The geologists in Western donor nations have hypothesized that drought in the Sahel are caused by human activities like over use of natural resources. Also, the discovering the phenomenon of global dimming, air pollution generated in North America have caused drought. According to the new UN study, the temperature in most of the Sahel region rise 3.5 ºC and the only 0.1% of inhabitable land made regular food crisis inevitable in most of the years. Other possible cause of food security is over-population. The population has rapidly increased since the end of cold war. With much population in Sahel will further over use the natural resources and food supplies
