Theory

1. Brief knowledge of the main classical dance forms prevalent in India, their names and province to which they belong.
2. A brief Introduction of Kathak dance.
3. Definition and Knowledge of the term Tatkar.
4. Qualities of Ghunghru.
5. Definition of the following terms - Natya, Nritta, Nritya, Taal, Matra, Sam, Taali, Khaali, Theka, Avartan, Laya, Tukda, Tihai, Thah, Dugun, Chaugun.
6. Basic knowledge of the Thekas of the following Taals and ability to write their notation – Tritaal, Dadra, Kaharawa, Jhaptaal.
Practical

Revision of Praveshika – I year.
1. Tritaal (i) Basic Tatkar upto Athgun Laya and ten varieties of Tatkar (Palte). (ii) A simple That. (iii) Two “Ta Thei Tat” and “Ta Thei Tat Thei” Amads. (iv) Ten simple Tukdas and two Chakkardar Tukdas. (v) Five Tihais with speed. (vi) Two Gats of Nikas and Ghunghat and Gat Bhava of Chhed-Chhad.
2. Jhaptaal
(i) Tatkar in Thah, Dugun & Chaugun Laya and five Tihais.
(ii) Two “Ta Thei Tat” Amads and two “Ta Thei Tat Thei” Amads.
(iii) Rang Manch Ka Tukda, four simple Tukdas and two Chakkardar Tukdas.
