“Saydu, education is the key of success in our society,” “I do not want you to end up living under your sister’s basement or going to work at a place that the boss does not treat you right.” “Yeah, I know what you mean Dad.”
Olando is a guy who has always hustled throughout her life. He’s a forty-something year old father of two, who just likes to share stories about his past and how lessons that were taught to him led him to be the man he is now.
For the past 20 years my father has held the same job – waking up each morning to go to work at 7 a.m. without complaint. I try to do the same thing when I wake up early to go to school. Although school can be stressful, I try to remember that it will help me in the future and without it I will not succeed in the world we live in today.
One thing to admire about him is how he inspires young people to pursue a career and to take advantage of going to school and getting an education. My father never turns anyone down who needs guidance and he remains positive throughout all the anxiety he has. Without his presence, I do not know if I would even have a plan to go to college.
Wherever I go to college in a couple of years of know, I already know there will be new obstacles to tackle but if I use the methods and lessons that I have learned from my father, I will dominate any challenge that I face. Whenever it seems like everything is falling apart, I’ll push myself harder and tell myself what he told me “Fall down seven times, stand up eight.”

How would you feel if you woke up every morning around 6 or 7 a.m. for nearly 180 days a year? How would you feel if I said you had to do that for about 12 years or so? Would you say it sounded tiring and challenging? Or would you say you couldn’t do it? If you agreed with any of the questions I just asked, then congratulations, you're now a little closer to having a teen mindset. Typical teenagers have to wake up every school day around 6 a.m. for 12 years in middle and high school. Not only is this virtually not achievable for normal human beings, but it’s also extremely not healthy for their growing bodies. These school start times make students seriously sleep deprived and fall at risk of destructive mental and social behavior. Academic achievement and health also decreases because of these early start times. Also, because most students are going through puberty at this time in their life, their bodies tell them to…

The truth is that we can’t budget all of our activities, sports and homework into one day and still get nine hours of sleep. In conclusion, school days should begin later than 7:50 a.m. With a later start time students will be able to get enough sleep, which is pertinent in order for a student to be successful in school.
