Modern Day Music
Modern day music

In todays society it really doesn’t take a lot of effort to become a “talented” or “well known” musician as you can probably tell by some popular artists such as Tyga, Jay-Z or Miley Cyrus. In my opinion, those three are terrible. In America today in order to become famous “musician” all you need to do is write down a vague rhyme that makes zero sense, get an average singer to sing it, auto-tune it and wear the correct clothes.

Once that one song has been put out, mindless teens will want more there fore increasing your popularity drawing radio stations towards it as well. You now have thousands of dollars and can afford to produce more and start a tour. Since you are famous, those who do not like the rubbish you spew out will be shunned.

I do not believe this is how the music industry should operate. There should be some actual competition between artists then maybe they will put some thought in to what they spit out.

In my opinion music today has changed completely changed, all the style to it is different that 30 or 40 years ago. Every thing is now electric and is put together by keyboards and mixers.

In high school, students would try to impress their teacher with unnecessary complex words and sentences, which could sometimes take away the message that they were trying to convey. Our mentality was that the bigger and the more complex the words are, the better. It was not so when I got to WRI 1050. I soon learned that using big words and complex sentences meant nothing if the essay lacked a strong content.…

Dissatisfied with the RIAA's labels, many would-be censors have demanded even more limits on the sale of music with controversial lyrics. As a result, legislators have introduced bills in more than 20 states in recent years that would require warning labels far more detailed than the RIAA's. Some proposed laws would go beyond mandatory labeling and actually ban the sale to minors of music deemed to be objectionable.…

As someone who understands both the simplicity and the complexity of music, I am very opinionated as to what makes music “good” or in better words, worth listening to. Composers such as Vivaldi, Mozart, and many others helped to define music of their generations. Everyone knew and appreciated the works they composed, and a great number of people still find the time to appreciate it. In the rock and roll era, The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Jimi Hendrix, and Led Zeppelin started revolutions in their own ways. These artists each helped to shape today’s music. Other artists that have changed music as it is known today include Michael Jackson, Johnny Cash, David Bowie, Queen, Billie Holiday, and many others. My respect for the aforementioned artists is overwhelming. These artists of the past are definitely still worth listening to.…
